This problem has been bothering me for sometime but I m not sure what the dr can actually do.

I m a 22 yr old female and I get muscle cramps all the time.
The day before the cramp comes on I can feel a dull pain in the area that’s about to cramp, the next day it’s debilitating I can’t move which ever limb that’s sore and it usually lasts a day or 2. I can’t sleep, nothing helps, the bath feels good but the pain returns as soon I get out.
It’s usually spurs in 2 areas, my thigh ( I can feel it all the way down to my ankle)
And my bicep ( which I can feel in my neck, ribs and wrist)

I used to get these cramps every week, however when I became pregnant with my son the subsided and only happened a couple of times throughout my pregnancy.
He’s now 11 months and they ve started coming on more frequently again

Any advise would be amazing!

Sorry I don't know what the cause would be but have you tried topical magnesium. Better You Lavender helps.

You can buy 250ml of Dead Sea oil in a spray bottle for c£7 on eBay. Spray it onto affected areas but note that quickest way for it to be absorbed by the body is to rub it into the soles of your feet.

NB: the Dead Sea referred to is the ancient one that lies under Holland and not the one that borders Jordan/Israel.

I'm never without a bottle of this oil which i find almost miraculous in the way it works to eliminate cramp and relieve strained muscles. Despite the name, it's not oily and it is very quickly absorbed by the skin.

Also check your liquid intake as cramp can be caused by dehydration.

Magnesium deficiency probably. Try supplements.

Have you seen a doctor?

Get thee down to your local chemist and buy some magnesium supplements. I use the powder ( dissolved in water) or you can get capsules. Take them regularly and you'll be fine again.

I used to get these a lot, particularly at night. I take quinine on prescription (not recommended for long term use and only in severe cases) and capsaicin chilli cream. I find sleeping with an electric blanket really helps too. When I got a cramp, putting the area against something really cold helped.

Definitely see your GP if nothing else helps.
