Tell me about your new treadmill, please.

Any good? I'm thinking of getting one....

don't do it, wait for her to get bored wiht hers and you can buy it cheap!
Actually I think MrsRecycle might have one going spare...

Bubble99 · 09/08/2007 19:53

Do you reckon Foxie's is in the shed already?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 09/08/2007 19:55

yes but she's too ashamed to admit it...

Bubble99 · 09/08/2007 19:57

Has she conned the DCs into thinking it's an early, joint Christmas present?

I'll check back later. She's probably exercising on her lovely new treadmill, as I type.

How very dare you suggest its in the shed?

I have used it once, actually, when it was raining. I am so used to my daily walkies now that my legs get twitchy if I can't get out. I bought it for when I can't get out.

I got the cheap one - about £79, just in case I don't use it. But MrsR has one she doesn't want I believe (her Dh aquired it)

  • oh and the Dcs do love it and use it daily!!

Does the belt/running bit move freely? Or is it clunky?

I've only ever used a motorised one at the gym and have often wondered if the manual ones move smoothly.

I'm assuming yours isn't electric?

Bubble - it moves through you moving your feet.

When I first used it I found it clinky but once you get the hang of how to use it it is fine and very smooth. Its especially good for running, although I prefer to walk. And I found you can really feel it and work up a sweat much quicker than a RL walk, due to the incline, which is fixed but is very comfy i.e. not too steep.

foxcub · 09/08/2007 22:19

clunky not clinky

Bubble99 · 09/08/2007 22:20

Does it fold away?

OP posts:
foxcub · 09/08/2007 22:23

Yes, folds flat and could go under bed if there was a bit less crap under there already. Its quite light to move/lift

Bubble99 · 09/08/2007 22:26

Good. Thanks.

Off to bed now to, no doubt, have weird, treadmill themed dreams.

Have you decided yet whether to invest in a treadmill then?

Bubble99 · 11/08/2007 10:23

I've decided to invest £60 and join the YMCA gym instead. I rarely go out in the evenings and I reckon I'll enjoy going once the littlies are asleep. There are evening classes as well as the gym and I'm the sort who needs group motivation.

I need to buy some scales today as I've joined a weight loss thread/group. Starting on Monday....

Just need to lay of the wine, really.
And the butter.....

Oh, and there's also the G&B's chocolate ice-cream...

Bubble - I've lost loads of weight recently and do a walk every evening when DH gets home. I walk at a fast pace for about 75 minutes and it keeps me trim.

Plus 5 minutes callenetic tummy excercises a day.

Plus, err I actually stop eating once I am full and have no cakes/sweets/choccy/biscuits.

That last one is the most challenging

If you ever fancy a walk in the evenings, give me a buzz. SFX runs each morning as well (I'd love to join her bit DH isn't here at that time so I can't)

Let me know how the gym goes. I haven't joined a gym 'cos I think that once I travel there, workout, showwr, change, come home etc it would probably take more time than 75 mins and I have to fit the excercise in between feeds.

BTW I feel so much better now, since losing some weight. Lots more energy too.
