Left side breast pain?

For about 6 months I have had like a constant internal itch at the side of my left breast. I had a trapped nerve (or what they think could be) in the shoulder at the same side a few months before so they thought it could be associated to that. The breast is now very tender, like a PMS feeling but a lot worse. I’m getting a bit worried. Has anyone had anything similar? It feels almost ‘heavy’, but from what I can see it looks and feels ok.

Hmmm I’ve recently been to the breast clinic for the second time about something similar. Have you been to your GP? They usually like to send you to the breast clinic just to be on the safe side anyway so probably worth an appointment for peace of mind.

Not exactly the same as you but I have left side breast pain which flares up with my cycle. The doctors can feel some granulation there but I can never feel it, so I don’t trust my own breast checking. Anyway; my theory is it all stemmed from holding my son in the same position for every nap for about a year when he was a baby 🙄🙄 as a result I have a chronic, giant knot in my left shoulder which no-one has managed to do anything about, and I think it basically reaches around to my breast too. So your description makes sense to me.

No idea why it would flare up with my period but there you go!

@BendydickCuminsnatch (lol) I’ve been once about a month ago to the GP and he said that it could be to do with my shoulder and kind of dismissed it without even doing an exam. I think I might book again with a lady to mention it again as it’s now actually painful.
I went to the clinic not long after my son was born 2.5 years ago actually and they just said they saw some dense tissue which could make me more susceptible to feel pain in that area?(I think) but then that was 2.5 years ago.
It would make some sense though as I always carry my son to my left, obviously less so now but I’ve spent the past 2 years holding him at that side!
Did the clinic give you any advice? It does seem a coincidence that my shoulder was playing up them months later my breast started to hurt on the same side. But then my health anxiety prone mind starts to worry me! x

Yes that sounds exactly like me! My son had to be held a specific way in my left arm haha arrrgh if only I’d known the pain it would leave me in! Blummin kids.
They didn’t give me any advice really, just that it’s nothig to worry about. I’ve tried deep tissue massages and seen an osteopath for a few months but just put up with it now.

I read that something like 80% of mammals automatically hold their young to their left - it’s to do with the right side of the brain being able to make quicker decisions or something like that! I found it interesting!
I really hope that it’s just the same as you and not anything scary like doctor google comes up with!! They gave me amitriptyline for the nerve but I’ve been reluctant to take it as it’s also an antidepressant and I don’t want to get stuck on them x
