How do you cope when you're poorly and have young 'uns?

Just wondering as I have recently been unwell and had to stay in bed for a few weeks. Fortunately, dh is a teacher and is on hols, so he took care of ds age 1. I just feel so guilty when I am not there to care for him most of the time and I feel bad that someone else has to do all the household tasks which we usually share out. Now, if dh were ill, I would not resent him in any way, and I know he doesn't resent me, but I torture myself with guilt. Anyone else do this?
btw, I realise I am lucky to have someone around to take over, but this doesn't make me feel any better!

WEll I'm afraid I DO resent my DH when he's ill and I'm pretty sure he resents me (not that either of us admits it of course ), it's all linked to the sort of 'competitive tiredness' thing that seems to happen once you have children. I was more ill in the first year of my dd's life than I've ever been before, just loads of colds, bugs and viruses, and basically just had to get on with it. I think I got so annoyed because if he's ill he has a day off work, but if I am, being a SAHM, I don't get a day off work, plus my DH can't come home to look after dd! Of course, that's not his fault, but I still get pissed off. I realise that this is not rational thinking!

ah, well, I don't do rational thinking so I don't expect anyone else to!

Switch on tv, lie on sofa, eat pizza and hide under blanket until dh comes home - if things are going particularly wild - send them to rooms to play (my 4 and 6 year olds). With ds3 - lie him on playmat and go to sleep on floor next to him. If have all 3, sit in corner and cry til dh comes home - try all of above - if all else fails - go to softplay.

Will try that next time, flash!
