By the time I get over lunch it's dinner time n I'm at the toilet again
It's been going on a while on n off n I think yeah I'll go to doctors but I'm a mum of three and always busy n then the doctor doesn't have appointments left etc.

Right now I'm in agony cramps n diarrhoea
Unbelievable stomach cramps
Is this something I could go to out of hours doctor with?
I just wanna get it sorted ASAP
My quality of life is crazy because of it

Yes, call 111 or go to the out of hours.

Jingers5 · 16/08/2019 00:02

Buscopan is very good, if u can get to 24 hour shop. Hot water bottle/bath is good too. Hope you feel better soon.

LazyLacey · 16/08/2019 00:07

I've been taking busapan all day
I had some in the cupboard

I'm worried that maybe this would be frowned upon to use such like services
Even tho I'm in agony

Has anyone had any experience going through any of this
What symptoms did you have ?
I'm a bit worried tbh
Thanks in advance x

I've got Crohns, my symptoms were basically terrible cramping and intense pain, lasting from about 3pm until 5am and only ending when I managed to do a stool or vomit, then my tummy area would hurt for about a week, like I've been kicked in the stomach. I had this every 6 months, then suddenly I started getting it monthly with the most draining fatigue. It took about 3 or 4 months to officially be diagnosed (colonoscopy, MRI, stool sample, lots of blood tests) I've been diagnosed fir about 4 years now, my first memory of flare was about 25 years ago when I was about 15. Thinking about it, as a child I always had tummy aches in the morning and the mornings and night time are still my worst times. Good luck opThanks

BusterGonad · 18/08/2019 06:28

For me the worst foods are high fiber like salad, pop corn, nuts and seeds, chili. Salad is the devils work imo.

BusterGonad · 18/08/2019 06:44

Also you don't 'get' Crohns, it's just something you have. They (Drs) do not know why we have it, or suddenly get it. It just happens, until they find out for sure, no one knows.

Cantdoright1 · 18/08/2019 06:45

I have Crohn's. I had diarrhea, bleeding and pain. I've had it 7 years now and was diagnosed though CT scan, bloods and colonoscopy. There's medication if that's what it is so there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

BusterGonad · 18/08/2019 07:34

@Cantdoright1 I don't get diarrhea so much, urgency and maybe a bit loose but I suffer more from blockages then anything else, last year I had to be dilated as I had a stricture. Not nice! I'm constantly fatigued with aching joints! I'm 40 and often feel like I'm 80! Sad

Cantdoright1 · 18/08/2019 08:48

Sounds horrid Bustergonad. I didn't have children when i was sick so cant imagine how hard it must be for you. I now have a 6 and 2 year old and i cant imagine being that sick whilst looking after them. I really hope you get to the bottom of this soon x

Cantdoright1 · 18/08/2019 08:53

Should have said achy joints is a crohns thing too, as is fatigue. But im no doctor and there seem to be a million different possible causes out there! Good luck. I had never really heard of Crohns before i was diagnosed and even though i was so ill i really thought i just needed antibiotics and i would be fine. I was 37 at the time. I really hope its something straight forward and fixable for you. Like i said there are so many possibilities so its good your doctor is doing tests. x

Thank you for your reply's

@LazyLacey it's not nice, but you do learn to live your life in a new way, it's hard to keep going when your on holiday or something, you know to keep up with the family and not get tired and ratty. I always feel like I need to apologize for my tiredness. BUT you may not have Crohns, many things offer similar symptoms. Just to add I am NOT medicated due to living outside of the uk where the medications I need are not available so I carry on and try to stay well through diet and getting enough rest etc

Mileysmiley · 19/08/2019 05:30

Try Buscopan

LazyLacey · 20/08/2019 01:47

Thank you
I'll keep u posted I get results from blood n stool on Thursday
Can they diagnose from just blood n stool
Or will I need more tests x

OP posts:
BusterGonad · 20/08/2019 03:18

The stool test will be able to diagnosis Crohns, there's a certain protein which only IBD sufferers have in their stool. I can't remember without googling what it's called, if you have this protein then they will want to do a colonoscopy and a MRI or CT scan to find out which part is affected and to get a thorough diagnosis. If you have got Crohns op there are plenty of us (Mumsnetters) who can advise and offer support.

BusterGonad · 20/08/2019 03:19

Here's the basic info

An elevated calprotectin level is a person's stool indicates that inflammation is likely present in the intestines but does not indicate either its location or cause. ... A low calprotectin means that signs and symptoms are likely due to a non-inflammatory bowel disorder.

LazyLacey · 20/08/2019 23:57

That's interesting to read thanks very much
I'm anxiously waiting for my results

My bloods came back ok
But my stool sample hasn't come back yet and neither has the "antibodies" blood test
Does this mean I won't have crohns or celiac
Confused 🤷‍♀️

BusterGonad · 22/08/2019 07:35

Your bloods can be normal even if you are feeling like shit, my bloods showed inflammation a few times before diagnosis but ever since then have been pretty much normal. The stool sample could show inflammation. My stool sample took about 3 months to come back. If everything comes back clear I'd push for a colonoscopy if I were you. My first one showed inflammation and scarring. I've only had 2 but I hate them so try not to get them find too often if I can help it. I'm a rarity though as the average person doesn't find them as painful as I do.

LazyLacey · 22/08/2019 12:52

Thank you buster for all your messages and helpful information x
