I constantly feel like shite, I suffer with constant crippling fatigue, rubbish, red, combination skin that is very sore.
I get brain fog,
A constant feeling that I've over eaten (despite eating very little)
I wake every morning with a headache.

I have been to so many doctors, had so many tests. A few blood tests fractionally high or low but nothing to suggest I am unwell but I feel awful.

I figure I'm going to have to make changes to see if I can help myself a bit.

I am highly stressed (have start counselling but can't change anything in my life to reduce it sadly)
I am overweight but find it impossible to lose most 'diets' leave me feeling much worse.

I don't smoke/drink alcohol.

Can anyone give me some experiences or tips on a lifestyle change they've made that's made them feel healthier in general?

The best things were cutting out alcohol and unhealthy food, and including daily meditation.

GrapefruitGin · 08/08/2019 17:46

Start your morning with a hot water with lemon, it’s a great way of ‘flushing’ your system. Also, Try no dairy for a month and see how you feel. It has made a huge difference to my skin, bloating and gut issues. Don’t overwhelm yourself. Have you been referred for an intolerance test? Do you exercise?

itsasausage · 08/08/2019 17:47

i get weekly lunches and dinners delivered from prepperfect.
have a huge water bottle I make myself drink through every day.
splashed out on a fancy Eve pillow
take b12 and iron spray.
stopped drinking caffeine (I think this weirdly helped the most)

ghostofharrenhal · 08/08/2019 17:48

Exercise. I am not a natural exerciser, but I started going to the gym and I feel loads better for it. I was a bit intimidated at first, but found people of all shapes, sizes and ages go there.

Nuffaluff · 08/08/2019 17:48

Perhaps your stress is causing you to lose sleep? That is really bad for you. It could account for your difficulties with weight loss as well as your tiredness.
So perhaps starting yoga and meditation could be something that would really help, if you start and do it regularly (ie a little bit every day).

Loopy9 · 08/08/2019 17:48

My best thugs were to massively cut down alcohol, drink more water, and I’ve been taking complex vitamin B and vitamin D and my crushing fatigue has gone!

WalkofShame · 08/08/2019 17:49

Yoga and vegan diet. Everyone hates you but physically and cognitively I’m like a new woman.

haverhill · 08/08/2019 17:49

Try cutting out gluten and /or dairy? You may have an intolerance.
Are you menopausal?

fleshmarketclose · 08/08/2019 17:51

Got a dog, walking her twice a day has made me fitter than I have been in years, I've lost weight, I'm more toned and getting out and about in the countryside helps my mood and having a dog in the house makes you laugh, gives a listening ear and comfort when you are down.

BasinHaircut · 08/08/2019 17:52

Honestly I had all of the brain fog, constant headache low energy shit and I started taking a multivitamin with iron (just a boots one) and literally from the morning after the first one my headache was gone. Been over 2 months now and is the longest I’ve ever gone since I was about 8 years old without a headache.

Drink more water

Eat less shit

timshelthechoice · 08/08/2019 17:57

I start the morning with 10 or so minutes of yoga (try Yoga with Adrienne Yoga for Morning) no matter how little sleep I've had! Makes such a difference.

I also take CBD and it's made a real difference to my anxiety and insomnia.

I second daily exercise, no matter how you fit it in throughout the day.

itsasausage · 08/08/2019 18:03

oh cbd oil too each morning. stopped feeling stressed/ and fuzzy head

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/08/2019 18:08

I need to do the same.

Cutting out sugar had me feeling like a new woman within a week, need to do that again. Didn’t eat anything with sugar listed in the ingredients (including fake sugars too of course) did eat fruit though. If i reeeeally needed a packaged convenience food and couldn’t find anything with no sugar, I chose something with less than 5g sugar per 100g.

Those saying cut out dairy, do you mean all dairy or are eggs ok? Is it just the lactose?

Interested in iron spray - is it ok to do that without docs advice? I know too much iron can be bad.

Nandocushion · 08/08/2019 18:11

Eggs aren't dairy?!?

Giving up sugar and exercising hard 5 days a week for me.

Star8181 · 08/08/2019 18:15

Have you been tested for celiac disease? I have all the symptoms you have said and it’s looking likely that’s what’s wrong with me. I’m trying to exercise more - I go for a run every second day, it has helped how I feel a little.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 08/08/2019 18:15

I will certainly try a daily vitamin.
I could do with more water.

I have a dog, he already gets walks and I work a very active job (caring)

I sleep all the time, I'm not sure it's good sleep but it's certainly plentiful.

I have extremely loose ligaments and suffer quite a bit with joint pain, my physio said no yoga because I have no limits to how far my joints can go and could end up quite injured when stretching. I could do another type of mindfulness though.

I haven't had an allergy test, closest I've had is one of those paid for intolerance tests that you send your hair off too and it came back intolerant to Yeast and Gluten, but I read they're not reliable tests so I can't say I followed it.

Becoming vegan
Need to start doing yoga again
Getting a dog and walking for at least an hour a day

oatmilk4breakfast · 08/08/2019 18:18

Similar symptoms to you. Got a blood test, got diagnosed with sub clinical hypothyroidism, and Vit D deficit. On doctors advice I started taking 2000iu of Vit D per day for 3 months. Then I started reflexology weekly and drinking 1.5 litres of water per day. Cut out tea and dairy. Feel good

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/08/2019 18:26

Eggs aren't dairy?!?

Well that’s exactly my point, loads of people include them in when saying ‘no dairy’ so I was merely asking for clarification Hmm

TitsalinaBumSquash · 08/08/2019 18:41

I very recently had a full panel of bloods done for a women's wellness check with medicheck. Nothing was wildly out, just w couple that were a little bit low or high.
Thyroid has come back fine loads of times.

I was recently in hospital for a week and again a few tests were a bit out of range but nothing that pointed towards an issue. This daily slog has been going on for as long as I can remember, even as a child.

Watching with interest

I spend my life feeling pretty crap, at the moment I'm permanently tired and can't manage a whole day without a nap. Headaches, stomach aches, itchy skin.

Waytooearly · 08/08/2019 18:46

Vegan diet, definitely. You don't have to go whole-hog vegan, just introduce loads of vegetables. Especially dark greens.

No alcohol.

FaithInfinity · 08/08/2019 18:48

Have you been referred to a rheumatologist? The loose joints and ligaments made me wonder if you might have EDS? Also you should be investigated for fibromyalgia if you haven’t already. It doesn’t show up in blood tests.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 08/08/2019 18:59

I used to see a Rheumatologist regularly but one session I went to he said there wasn't anything he could do for me, he did acknowledge I have hyper mobility syndrome and get full score on the Beighton scale, I have been tested for Lupus and similar but no results ever come back to me so I assume they're always negative.

That was 12 years ago though so who knows if things have changed?

my physio said no yoga because I have no limits to how far my joints can go and could end up quite injured when stretching

Ask your physio if Pilates is okay and if so, which type would suit you best. Pilates isn't based on stretching.
