Any dermatologists around?

Disclaimer: I will see my GP about this but she's been on hols and I'm now away til next week.

I'm worried about a patch of skin on my arm that has changed in the last month or so. It started off with 2 small raised spots that I scratched or otherwise knocked. It's now kind of scaly and pinker around the scabs. The scabs healed but are now back. The pink area is smaller than my fingernail. It feels a bit sensitive to the touch and 'tingly'.

I'm obv worried it's some kind of skin cancer. Can anyone help me with what it might be? See 2 pics attached. 1st is the area, 2nd is the pink area stretched - it's got lines in it that the surrounding skin doesn't.

Yes get it checked by gp but in the meantime see a pharmacist. They see rashes etc all the time and it may be something that can be dealt with by them and a tube of cream. Good luck.

Thanks, good idea. It's looking different today. Pink area smaller but scab is scabbier (I scraped it).

Is it itchy?
My DF had a basal cell carcinoma (bcc) and it was scabby and pink/dry/scaly and would heal and reappear. He was in his 70s and he left it years despite me telling him to get it checked. It was very itchy. Eventually he got it seen to and removed. All ok several years on. If it’s not healed or there snouts in a week, I’d get it checked.

There abouts not snouts. His was in his face so and area that had lots of exposure over 70 yrs and he wasn’t the best at applying sunscreen.

Thanks @Benjispruce. It's not really itchy, but it's a bit tingly and I kind of know it's there from the different sensation.

Sounds like what your DF had. Good yo know it's treatable and not rapid! Will get an appt for next week.

I am a consultant dermatologist. It looks benign. It may well be an irritated seborrheic keratosis based on the three photos.

Usual caveat - needs to be seen in person for full accuracy.
