Tight chest, short of breath

Hi, for a few weeks now my chest has felt very tight/heavy. Woke up this morning feeling very short of breath, lightheaded and dizzy and with a pain shooting from the front of my left shoulder to the back and spreading across the top of my chest. Had sudden severe nausea that caused me to vomit then disappeared straight after, not returned. Obviously not having a heart attack (I’m 27), but no appointments available at my surgery for the next 3 weeks and a&e is always extremely busy and you can end up spending a whole day there, plus not really sure this constitutes an emergency?

Any ideas? Getting really fed up with feeling like I’ve constantly ran a marathon. Normally in good health, non smoker, no underlying conditions and no history of respiratory problems in the family. Thanks

Adding my voice to the above, may well be muscle problems but everything in your chest is important and breathing properly is very important so pop yourself off to A&E.

Thanks for the advice all, went along to A&E and they did an ECG, X-ray and blood tests to rule out a blood clot (on the Depo injection, apparently there is a small risk of this though I think the doctor was being on the cautious side). Unfortunately had to leave before blood tests came back (child issues, starving and causing a bit of a nightmare) but as they’d ruled out anything like a collapsed lung or heart attack and I didn’t seem in any immediate danger/there weren’t any signs of infection present they said they’d call me with the results of the tests when they were able to do fingers crossed it’s just my body having an off day!

Great news, OP. I’m sure you feel a lot better now you’ve been checked out
