URGENT HELP REQ - DS PROJECTILE VOMITING

NomDePlume · 18/09/2004 12:34

Hi

I've just had a text from GeorginaA, who is currently enjoying a holiday in Spain. She has asked for help from the MN wise, so I'll just write what she has texted me......

"DS2 just projectile vomited. General teething symptoms: fussiness, dribble, hands jammed in mouth. No tempertaure. Should I take him to the doctor ?"

Her DS2 is 18 weeks old and is exclusively breastfed. Apparently he smiled straight after being sick.

What do you think ?

She says that the vomit is milk coloured, he's only done it the once so far. But he has been off his feeds for the past 48hrs, his best feed has been 'snacking' really. She is worried because the docs are closed over the weekend out there.

I'll pass it on Twiglett, thanks for replying

Just returned this evening and am being very sad and headed straight for mumsnet

Thank you all... yes, he didn't repeat the experience although he has been immensely snacky/more spit up than usual at the moment (although ramming his fist too far down his throat to gnaw on probably doesn't help the latter).

No sign of any pearly whites yet, but I hope they make an appearance soon if only to reassure me over the amount of calpol and calgel this boy has ingested over the last week!!!

Thanks again, especially to NomDePlume for posting the message and relaying the replies so quickly.

Hmm... best described as a "mixed" holiday.

Haven't unpacked yet and dh has given up on me and gone to bed...

Poor wee babes. Teeth are horrible things
