Experiences-Reactions prescription sunglasses..?

Hi all,,can anyone tell me their recent personal experience? I know they only react to UV so dont usually work in cars etc.

From bright sunlight to indoors,how quickly do they change to clear,and how quick the other way?

I dont ant to move from sun to indoors and be blundering around for 2 minutes !

I had them once but I wouldn't have them again. The main reason is they went dark when I didn't want them to, like in the evening when we went for a walk, my glasses would be almost dark when they didn't need to be. You also need prescription sunglasses if you want to wear them in the car, so I went back to having 2 pairs, it is a pain having to keep changing them, but I wouldn't have the reactions again.

my son and daughter in law love theirs and drive with.
i on the other hand wear two pairs prescription day and prescription sunglasses.
love my prescription sunglasses
but i assume your talking about lenses that transition :)

I tried them but had to take them back.

I worked in a large open plan office with big windows and found that the glasses would always be partially darkened. It felt like walking around in the dusk all the time and was really depressing.

Conversely when outside in actual sunshine they did not go dark enough!

I also thought they were really ageing and made me feel very middle aged!

I've got them. They take ages to go back to clear again. I usually have to take them off when I go indoors as they are so dark. They don't work under wide brimmed hats or in cars.

I've worn them for nearly 30 years since I was 14.

I wouldn't be without them (although I do have prescription sunnies for holidays and driving).....

HOWEVER

It has left me very very light sensitive. I need to wear shades even in lights most people would be ok with.

That is because my eyes have had decades being shielded from bright light all the time.
