Just burned myself with straighteners and nhs says to check out any white skin caused by burns. What do you think?

Have you run it under cold water? How long ago did you burn yourself?

SouthWestmom · 04/07/2019 10:40

wrap it in clingfilm, which prevents oxygen getting to it and stops it hurting. Then go and get it checked out.

When they say white skin they mean like the bottom example in the photo

For me i would run it under more cold water then stick some burn cream in

Thanks I wasn't sure what it meant. It's over prominent veins and my fingers feel weird. I might try the pharmacist

Looks fine to me. Just run it under the cold tap for a bit

BatFacedGirl · 04/07/2019 10:53

That is not a 'white skin' burn.

SouthWestmom · 04/07/2019 10:54

Thanks - I just read white skin so wasn't sure what it looked like

I burn myself monthly with my straighteners. Never considered getting examined over it.

SouthWestmom · 04/07/2019 11:01

Yeah I do quite often it's just bigger and on both sides of my wrist this time Blush

By white skin they mean actually crisped by heat. Hair straighteners don't get that hot, or they'd go through your hair too!

SouthWestmom · 04/07/2019 11:02

Oh yeah, good point.
