Night time shuddering (fitting?) in dd aged 4. Sign of eplilepsy?

The family was recently sleeping together in a hotel room and I noticed dd was shuddering in a kind of jerky way. She was asleep but the shuddering repeatedly woke her up (but she was still very drowsy and wasn't really aware what was happening) and then she went straight back to sleep. It happened every couple of minutes for several hours. It's not the first time this has happened. It happened when she was a very young baby but now I'm wondering how much it happens when we're not there to see it. I've recently read that there are some forms of epilepsy that only happen at night and am now worried this is what she's got. Any expereince or advice out there?

sounds liek normal sleeping movements to me, but I'd go see GP to be sure.

My DD1 does this. I remember finding her sleeping on the landing when I went to bed one night. I pocked her up and she twitched in a very alarming manner. Happens quite frequently - I'm not concerned.

I did not pock her up, I did in fact pick her up.

hi hurricane
My son (now 15) had these fairly strong "shivers" for years (they are called myoclonic jerks), including occasionally during the day, he also had slight clumsiness etc. When we went gluten-free on suspected gluten sensitivity 2 years ago, these "shivers" went away, motor skills and general health improved too.
He does have gluten sensitivity gene and had silent reflux for years (it was like a permanent tickle in his throat).
Some types of epilepsy are possibly linked to gluten.
Hope it helps.
