just undressed her and she has a red rash all over her chest and back coming up from her bottom. sorry a bit vague but anyone have any ideas? its not dry or raised. She's 6months and I've been weaning - could it be related?

CC - have you pressed a glass against it to check it disappears? Not trying to scare you, just think you should.

MBPF - you there lovey?

massivebigpantsface · 27/07/2007 09:18

hi red, it sort of disappeared, why what does that mean?

btw, she doesn't seem under the weather other than a bit congested after a little cold and i haven't used any different weashing powder, wipes or bath stuff.

If it disappeared, that's good. When a rash doesn't disappear it can, but not necessarily is, a sign of meningitis.

Not sure what it could be honey, possibly a heat rash if she's just got out of a cosy bed? If you're concerned give your GP a call, they're usually pretty good at checking over littlies!

If she's had a cold it could be a viral rash. I get them sometimes after colds/viruses. They clear up after a day or two.

hmmm, its probably nothing but you know what these first time mums are like with pfb! i'll keep my eye on it and see what its like tomorrow. i was just worried that it might be a reaction to something she's eaten.

LOL - I'm a first time mum too and yesterday evening 'phoned my Mum and said, "Mum, I can't stop her srying. She seems in pain but I don't know what's wrong." Mum obviously had no clue what was wrong with her, being at the other end of the 'phone, but calmed me down. DD stopped crying shortly after - I think she had tummy ache.

Make a note of what food she's had todayand then try each food individually in a few days' time and see if there's a reaction. If there is, have a chat with your HV or GP.

massivebigpantsface · 27/07/2007 09:28

its frustrating when they can't tell you isn't it. right i'd better get her dressed now or was this just another lame excuse to jump back on mn
bye!

PMSL. I should really as dietician always asks me what she's eaten, but I'm too lazy. Besides, how exactly would I explain that DH thought it was okay for someone to give our milk intollerant DD mini Cheddars!!!!! Men!

sounds more like a virral rash, often happens after coughs and colds.
just keep an eye on it
