Hopefully someone can help as the receptionist at my GP surgery who I’ve just spoken to was as much use as a chocolate teapot.

I’ve been having sharp cramps in my left calf and was given a d-dimer blood test. I’ve just phoned for the results and the receptionist said it says satisfactory with a level of 292.
She couldn’t tell me anything further and there are no doctors available to speak to until next week.

I’m assuming (and hoping) that it means my levels are fine and not high or borderline high?

I have terrible health anxiety and always need to be reassured when I get results. I will speak to the doctor next week but hopefully someone can put my mind at rest that everything’s ok.

Thanks

The normal range varies slightly from lab to lab. If she says it’s within their normal range then it must be -the receptionist wouldn’t be interpreting the result herself, she’ll just be reading from the screen.

@greybeardy thanks for replying. Sorry if this sounds a bit thick but does satisfactory mean normal or “it’s ok but not ideal”.

Ellaballa Satisactory is not as good as normal but better than borderline. Hope this helps.
