recurrent headaches in children?

DS1` has had a fair few headaches recently. I put it down to the fact that he knows now what a head ache is and that he doesn't drink masses of juice/water. I do think he drinks enough, just not LOADS.

However, i have just picked him up from his friends house (hes 4 btw) and the friends mum said he had said a short while ago that he had a headache and wanted to lie down. On the way home (literally a 10 min walk) he was crying and grabbing his head and then was sick. hes now asleep in bed but i keep going in to check on him cos its really odd. He has a slight temp...as in he is hot but not so hot i need to know the actual numbers iyswim.

can children get migraines? is it likely that this is what this is? or is it just lots of headaches? Its not been sunny so its not sunstroke type headaches either

can be a symptom, sorry.

we are going next week when DP can have DS2 and i can properly talk to DR.

He doesn't get them every day, but has had them more recently. thought at first it was the air pressure, then thought dehydration and this one last night was just horrible to watch. He does get stomach aches as well usually on the same day as he gets a headache, which i have now discovered is related to migraine.
Can they be caused by nothing? just random? His diet hasn't changed at all since he was weaned (apart from a little less veg now - weel he is 4 ) so am loathe to think its cows milk/cheese or anything.

i do like the idea of keeping a food diary though

hydration can be a trigger. and stress. do keep a food/headache/activities diary, it's v helpful.

food sensitivity is rare. Worth bearing in mind as a possibility, but other factors should probably be eliminated first.

I developed sensitivity to cows milk at some point in my childhood, I dont remember exactly when. Just remember my mother dishing out half anadins when I was fairly small.

my children get loads of pressure headaches, as do I, we are near the mountains! some days you come to work and half the colleagues are suffering.

i vividly remember my first migraine, age 8. family tradition - my mum had them, and i still do, though now they are not painful or vomitty, just blinding. the nasty bit stopped when i was in my late 20s, i'd say.

my friend's son started getting them at a similar age, and they were regular and awful for years. she explored every avenue and eventually a discovered a chiropractor who has completely stopped them. miraculous, really.
