He couldn't feel the lump

So I've had a tiny lump in my boob for quite a while. Managed to go to the doctors yesterday but he couldn't feel it. I explained that you can only feel it when I'm in a certain position but was unable to replicate this for him.
It's about the size of a pea and you can feel it if you run your finger over the skin, but like I said, only at certain angles.
He basically said he can't feel it so it's not there and because I'm 25 it's unlikely I'd have cancer. Which Is an odd thing to say to someone.

Basically should I go and see another doctor and push for a referral? Breast cancer runs in my family so it's always been a concern for me but I'm worried I'm wasting there time 🤦🏻‍♀️

Any advise is welcome!

I personally would. Possibly a silly question but did you discuss your family history and concerns while you were there? From a statistical standpoint he is right in saying that because you're 25 it's unlikely to be cancer. However is definitely a bit off to state categorically 'if I can't feel it it's not there'.

In my opinion, if you are genuinely concerned, there's absolutely nothing wrong with seeing another doctor and saying 'I wasn't satisfied with my care last time - can you help?'

I had a somewhat similar issue when I was 26 - there was a visible irregularity in the breast that wasn't there before ('dent' above the areola). The GP couldn't feel anything out of the ordinary but after I listed my family history he referred me for an ultrasound and started me on the (lengthy...) pathway for genetic counseling.
