Cracked heels

Flobochin · 07/06/2019 14:32

Summer brings out those dreaded cracked heels.

Pumice them after every shower, lather on foot cream and you can keep the at bayside why do so many women just not bother?

Bleeding cracked heels can become infected and cause sepsis

Bayside? Sounds like a shopping centre to me. Not sure they stock cracked heels. Each to their own!

finnmcool · 07/06/2019 14:50

Are you telling women what to do with their feet?
Have you missed the many threads with people asking for advice about their feet?
It's not necessarily not bothering, there are many factors in life.
On the flip side, I've got really soft feet and get blisters galore on my soles, heels and toes, even with worn in shoes.

Shouldn't your post title have a judge alert Public Information prefix?

mimibunz · 07/06/2019 15:15

Don’t worry. Doesn’t look like we’re going to have a summer.

PorpentinaScamander · 07/06/2019 15:16

I'm lazy. And my feet are so hard (from years of dancing) that a pumice does nothing.

Flobochin · 07/06/2019 15:19

Simply a kindly message, because a colleague of mine got sepsis from cracked heels.

Strange how people get the hump over every post.

Your post came across as judgemental, but I'm sure you're aware of that.
A kindly reminder does not need to be finger wagging.

Flobochin · 07/06/2019 18:59

Blimey, chill my dear, you're the one who is judging - think about it.

Jeepers!! If only it was that easy!! Pumice and some Moisturiser?!
I moisturise my feet several times a day. I pumice too. Yet I still struggle to put my weight on my feet sometimes due to deep cracks and incredibly sore soles.
Not everyone is as lucky as you!! Very judgemental post!!

finnmcool · 07/06/2019 20:37

OP Don't 'my dear' me. Have a word with yourself.

Ponieswithponytails · 08/06/2019 06:44

A lot of the time people are moisturising dry feet when actually they have a fungal infection. You can get athletes foot on the soles of your feet. If you’ve got dry feet try an athletes foot cream like Lamisil and see if that clears it up.

Flobochin · 08/06/2019 07:16

@Ponieswithponytails you have it in one. That's a very common problem.

@finnmcool Chill my dear, it's nothing to get your knickers in a twist over.

I had cracked heels for years. A pumice did nothing, nor did any of the creams I tried until I discovered Flexitol Heel Balm. If anyone is reading this hoping for advice I urge you to give this a try if you haven't already. It's miracle stuff (or CCS cream which also has 25% urea).

To the OP, your post comes across as sanctimonious, there are ways to get across a health message if you are concerned about people's health but your OP is a master class in how to get people's back up.

Flossie44 · 08/06/2019 07:31

Totally agree re fungal infection. Mine has been a combination of this. And by moisturising, you are adding the moisture to allow the fungal to grow!! Vicious circle. A good podiatrist is helpful. Although even between appointments is a struggle.

OP, you really are quite spiteful!!

Flossie44 · 08/06/2019 07:32

I tried flexitol - it felt like pouring vinegar into the cuts as they were so deep!! :-(.

Absolutepowercorrupts · 08/06/2019 07:35

Sanctimonious and patronising

CountFosco · 08/06/2019 08:16

No treatment works for everyone sadly (something the OP would do well to remember). Cracked heels are so painful.

Clutterbugsmum · 08/06/2019 08:44

I tried flexitol Me too.

I now use Chiropody Sponge And O'Keeffe's healthy feet.

Soak feet and use sponge and the use cream, and for the first time in years my feet aren't cracked.
