Dizziness, nausea, migraines & ringing ears

For a week or 2 now I’ve had as the title says, the ringing seems to be mainly on the right side as are the migraines/headaches. When the pain isn’t there I feel tired and cotton headed.
The dizziness and nausea come and go but leave me a bit out of sorts when they come, dizziness is the spinning room kind, sort of like when you lay in bed after a few drinks and the world is a bit

Any idea what this could be?

Hello sorry you're feeling so rubbish. Sounds a bit like labrithitis ( not sure I've spelt that right) which goes after a couple of weeks. Also sounds like me when I get a migraine, but only for a day or 2 tops.

Could be menieres?

gotmychocolateimgood · 03/06/2019 15:20

I had labyrinthitis 5 years ago (and chicken pox, then went on to get ME which I still have and is horrible). Anyway, antibiotics helped to fix the symptoms you mention as it was a bacterial inner ear infection . It was not a pleasant 2 weeks so I sympathise. My GP had to visit me to diagnose it (with drunk driving type test) as I was too incapable to walk up the road to the surgery. The world will stop spinning eventually! Get well soon Flowers

Thanks everyone, went to the Drs today and she did indeed diagnose labyrinthitis, viral though so just have some medication to help with the migraines and dizziness.

I often get ringing in my ears, I only notice it at night when all is quiet and I don’t get it all the time and I do get dizzy very easily so maybe both are something to keep an eye on

How are you feeling now Triple?

SapatSea · 08/06/2019 16:20

If it persists or returns after the labs has gone you might want to get referred to a neuro otologist (not ENT) to investiagte if you have MAV (Migraine related vertigo). I was misdiagnosed with labs and then Menieres for years as the symptoms were pretty constant. I'm now on medication that is helping but my path to recovery/a normal life will be a lot longer and harder than if I'd been diagnosed correctly at the start.

TripleTKA · 08/06/2019 20:12

I still feel much the same to be honest although the migraines have calmed down.
If I turn to fast I am still getting dizzy, still ringing in my ears and just feeling generally quite tired. Still feel quite nauseous a lot of the time too so I haven’t been eating very well which is probably not helping with the tiredness

Have a look into vestibular migraines, your symptoms may match up
There’s medications available to help the issues you have and help reduce the dizziness.

justasking111 · 08/06/2019 20:19

Six weeks of it laid up in bed, nausea/vomiting, dizziness, double vision. GP was baffled. I wondered if it could be a tooth abscess, so OH took me to dentist, dentist thought not but gave me antibiotics anyway. Hallelujah they worked. Saw the consultant had an mri. he said vestibular neuritis and the GP ought to have given me antibiotics in the first place. I started with it following a bad cold.

TripleTKA · 08/06/2019 21:53

I had a look a the symptoms for vestibular migraine but it mentions progressive hearing loss which I don’t have although the tinnitus is pretty constant.
My GP said that labs often comes after a cold, which would make sense for me usually as I do suffer with sinuses but I didn’t have so much as a sniffle, ear was slightly achy and throat a bit sore on the one side but nothing ‘bacterial’

Labs can take a long time for the symptoms to abate completely. Keep really well hydrated and cut back on salt.

Really hope you feel better soon and it is a one off.
