Experiences of burning mouth syndrome/silent reflux/thyroid?

Hi all,
I'll start with my main symptom which began about three months ago although it's possible that other issues may be linked to it.
So, back in February I started noticing a weird, cool sort of sensation on my throat ( a bit like when you suck a strong mint of breathe in really cold air). It wasn't uncomfortable and I didn't think much of it. After a week or two, it started to feel more like it might be heartburn, sort of acidic and I bought Zantac and Gaviscon to try and get rid of it, but neither worked. I went to my GP after about three weeks of it and she suggested it might be silent reflux and gave me a month's supply of Lansoprazole. I took that but it didn't work either. I returned to the GP who ordered blood tests. Results came back with TSH raised (4.8) and I have to repeat test in six weeks time.
To give a better description of the symptom: it's at the base of my throat (sort of where the neck dips in beneath the voice box). It's there more or less the whole time and not made worse by food/drink (in fact, the only time it doesn't bother me is when I'm eating or drinking weirdly). I also get the feeling in my mouth/tongue, sort of tingly and uncomfortable. Notably, there is nothing to see and my mouth and tongue don't hurt to the touch.
I mentioned other issues as I seem to have had one niggle after another lately. I've been suffering on and off with eye problems, mainly styes which then don't fully clear and leave unsightly lumps on my eyelids. I also had a nasty episode of vertigo a couple of weeks ago where the whole room was spinning for about a minute and then I felt absolutely terrible, nauseous etc for the whole of that day. My periods have been a bit off recently too. Last month I bled for two days as normal, then it just stopped. This month I've bled more normally apart from two really heavy days (not normal for me).
I'm starting to wonder if my thyroid may be at the root of all this? Does anyone have any experience of burning mouth syndrome or silent reflux with possible links to the thyroid? The mouth/throat thing is really getting me down as my symptoms don't fully fit either diagnosis. The burning is more throat than mouth (but definitely mouth too) and all descriptions of BMS seem to refer to just the mouth or tongue. If it's acid based, then why isn't it responding to treatment?
Sorry for the long waffle. I'd be so grateful if anyone has any advice.

What's BMS?

It's an unusual thyroid symptom but that tsh is definitely raised and the gp is right to test again.

Always get tests done in the morning as early as you can for consistency.

I would keep a record of all symptoms; have a look at thyroid ones too in case there's any you're experiencing. I get very constipated.

Were you tested for coeliacs disease do you know? I know that can be linked to autoimmune thyroid issues and also reflux. If you were and it was clear you might consider trialling a gluten free diet just to see if it's a sensitivity (ibs).

I have a diagnosis of burning mouth syndrome and atypical facial pain. The pain is in my gums and teeth, and I was diagnosed by maxillo-facial, after referral from my dentist. I don’t have anything in my throat, and it started after I had a load of problems with a lower molar, which was eventually extracted. I then had months of traipsing back and forth to the dentist with pain all over my mouth, but no dental cause (teeth and gums all fine) until she referred me. I had a load of tests (bloods for everything, MRI, full head x-rays) at the hospital.

Oh, and I would describe the sensation as being like when you burn your mouth on molten hot pizza cheese, but constantly - it flits about my mouth but does tend to be mainly on the left side.

I have the BMS at times, don't know what causes it. I suspect it maybe hayfever in my case as its very seasonal normally March for few months but doctors didn't know, just suggested anti depressants which I didn't agree to.
