Infected blister

Hi 👋🏻 everyone,
Does anyone have any advice please? I am desperate.
I have a really painful blister on my ankle that won't go. It's been there since 2nd May and is from a pair of converse.

It first appeared and was fine for 2days. Day 3 it become very painful, swollen, green and dark red around it. After a week of using blister plastics I popped to the pharmacy and was told to carry on what I was doing. 6 days later I managed to get a docs appointment as there was no chance. He gave me some strong antiseptic cream. Which worked and the pain got less . As the blister had nearly gone and wasn't painful at all, last night I decided to wear a pair of boots. I didn't walk far, just around the corner and back. It was a little painful during the evening. But this morning it has flared up again and is extremely painful again. I can only wear flip flops.

Any advice on how to clear this up quickly, as I have a formal occasion to go to on Friday and need to be wearing shoes.

You can't make skin heal faster than it heals sadly. It does sound like the reason it won't heal is that you are rushing it and damaging it again with ill-fitting shoes.

You need to have all the pressure off it, and if it isn't healed on Friday think about shoes that won't be rubbing it.

I have only worn flip flops since the blister arrived, apart from last night briefly when it looked like it was nearly recovered, and they were DMs.

Has your blood glucose been checked recently? If you are at any risk of diabetes , you need to get back to the GP quickly. A wound near your foot that won't heal needs seeing to.

I know this isn’t what you’re asking but you can get some really nice mules at the moment that are quite smart and are backless. I would get some of those for your formal event (h and m or ASOS have lots) and get back to the gp, it sounds like it might need some steroids and antibiotics.

Thank you ladies.
Great idea about the mules @AnnaMagnani
