Chicken pox, roseola, hives?

Aibu? Dd had temp for about 72hrs maybe more before breaking out in a rash on her stomach and back, looked like start of chicken pox, went to drs, he confirmed it. She still had temp in evenings, in the next 72hrs, spots disappeared. Spots were nowhere else. She had taken calpol, piriton & given calamine lotion along with a cool baths.
If it wasn't chicken pox? Was it roseola or hives?
Bout a year and a half ago, Ds had mild chicken pox, his spots were only on stomach, face and tops of arm, and again the spots didn't burst as such or crust over.

Is chicken pox not as bad as it used to be? Obv I'm aware it effects people in different ways

Oh and when Ds had it, nursery thought he'd got hives as a reaction from pollen...

It's not chicken pox. Chicken pox are distinctly fluid filled little blister spots which burst and crust over when the fluid from inside dries up. Even after they crust over (which takes a few days) they don't just disappear, it takes anything up to 4 weeks for the marks to actually heal and disappear. I don't think hives cause a fever if I'm honest. The roseola I'm not familiar with so it may well be that.

My DS had chicken pox. They developed rapidly and turn in yellow blisters and then scabs. He still has some the the scabs waiting to go

But then a boy in his class only had 10 spots in total and no more developed. No blisters and over within days. His mom got several Pharmacists opinions and all said it was Chickenpox.
My son was checked and diagnosed too, but I wasn't sure about my son's at first because he was absolutely fine with them. He tried to scratch but Piriton stopped that. But otherwise he was fine. I guess I was comparing him to really bad cases. My sister had it really young and was absolutely covered and really really poorly. He had about 200 spots mostly on his body and back and all over his scalp. But he did have them down his arms, legs, bottom and face etc just not as bad. But when the heads started blistering and they scabbed up I'm guessing my DS definitely had chickenpox. So I'm relieved it's out the way
