Moisturiser for eczema prone skin

DD suffers from eczema, his skin becomes particular dry and irritated on his legs and stomach (worse autumn to spring), and has a steroid cream from the doctor. He used up a large bottle of doublebase after my DD grew out of eczema and that seemed to suit him. He's just finished a bottle of E45 which hasn't been so effective. Can anyone recommend an over the counter moisturiser that might help please.

I use aveno the green one wit oats
I also use the aveno oat bath stuff
It stops the itching

Aveeno or cetraban.

If his skin is becoming dry and flaky quite soon after applying those the try 50/50 ointment (available over the counter) especially after baths or showers.
Keep bathing short, make sure water isn't too warm too.

Can’t you buy Doublebase? I’ve bought Dermol and diprobase OTC.

I find Balneum very soothing. When my skin is cracked it doesn't sting, and gives me instant relief.

Child's farm moisturiser is great for us.

I like hydromol best. Think you can buy a big pump bottle

Aveeno works brilliantly for my daughter. Her skin reacted to quite a few of the other creams.

Aveeno. I thought Doublebase was the best thing ever until I found Aveeno - it's not greasy like everything else I'd tried previously. You can get in is shops yourself or on prescription.

Cetraben. You can buy the cream or ointment over the counter (Boots sell both).

Please don't use E45, it really makes eczema feel like it's burning. Dermol is very good, or Cetraben.

Another vote for aveeno.

Cerave cream
Fragrance free and it contains ceramides

hydromol intensive it's not cheap so maybe for the worst bits. you have to apply it every 15 minutes to get it under control. the doctor advised me this and it works. i set an egg timer while doing something else for a few hours and go at it!
