Me and DH have realised we are pretty clueless when DD gets ill - so I'm looking for one to cover from baby upwards if possible. And published recently - there are some on Amazon that are 5 or so years old! Thanks

Its not new, but I use 'Before You call the Doctor' by that TV Doctor, and find it very useful for the whole family. I can't go upstairs and check his name, as everyone except me is asleep!

I have a great book, my mum bought it me when my first child was born and I thought it would be useless for all but the neurotic. But its fab - absolutely invaluable and has diagnosed every rash / illness my dd's have ever had (including some more unusual) it has flowcharts for good diagnosis and gives good advice. Its called 'Children's Medical Guide' by the British Medical Association.

Having a ref book in the house is a good idea, but it will be out of date quickly.
I tend to use the web. Problem is sorting the good advice from the rest. I would trust these sites (applicable to UK). There are lots more - anyone?.
