(sorry - change of name here ) - I think dd aged 8 has a verouca.
How would you deal with it.
I asked at Boots and they gave me some
frightening looking stuff that freezes
it off. It claims to be safe for ages
over four but looks scary.

What would you do?

Just used it (Scholl perchance) for a wart on my toe. Doesn't hurt, works very well. Just feels cold and stings a little bit. He will need to stay very still though cos if you get 'normal' skin with it, it hurts like buggery

I applied this to DD1 (6) yesterday. She said it gave her a funny sensation - but she asked for another application tonight (it's a 1 time thing, so had to disappoint)

Cleos - it makes the area go very very white so don't be alarmed. Only lasts for a minute or so. It can blister but don't pop it just leave it.

they a nighmare to get rid of. I used wartner that suppposedly freezes is, didn't work also the liquid stuff by scholl forgot name but didn't work either. You could try a piece of banana skin stuck on with some tape, many on here swear it worked for them, but sadly didn't for me. If you manage to get rid let me know what worked.

posting this and nothing showed up - must have spelt it wrong!

Dont use that basuka cream (sorry dont think thats spelt right) that stuff took 17 weeks to clear my daughters it just got bigger and bigger when i finally got it out 17 weeks later it had left a huge hole in her foot which then took another 2 week to heal good luck if the stuff your using now is not working after 2 weeks see your doc dont make the same mistake i did, i felt really bad

My ds aged 6 came down to breakfast this morning having 'chewed his verrucca off'!!! Blood everywhere!!

Not a course of action I would recommend though!!

Is it not like wrtner , that is suppose to feeze them like at gp's it is a canister of liquid nitrogen.

There was a chiropodist talking about verucas on Jeremy kyles show a few weeks ago. She said the best thing to do is ignore them. I dont know how practical this is from my own experience but that was her professional advice

you cant leave them they grow by the day and become very painfull to walk on

It is hte same in essance as they use at GPs - BUT as I understand it the GP is capable of acheiving much lower temperatures which the commercial freezing kits can't. As a result the commercial freezing techniques (Scholl and Wartner) don't always freeze the core.

I have heard that the Scholl one is better than Watrner though.

I've just been to the chiropodist with mine. It's a virus which your body will eventually beat - she reckons a child will get rid of them quickly, an adult can take up to 8 years . Tea tree oil helps. I insisted on having mine dealt with because they hurt, had to sign a huge form saying I knew it might not work, and on she went with evil acid stuff from a very impressive locked safe. Same stuff as Bazuka apparently but much, much stronger.

OT - I didnt reccomend it! The chiropodist on Jeremy Kyles radio 2 show did.
