My baby has had his vaccinations today and has a high temperature. Am trying to control this by giving paracetamol aswell as stripping him down to his nappy, but still the temp is between 37.7 / 38.5. Any advice please?

None I'm afraid but in exactly the same boat.

How old is your baby? Ibuprofen is better at lowering a temp than calpol but i think it’s from 3 months rather than 2.

There's nothing worse is there he's just so clingy and by me cuddling him isn't helping

Bless him x

Maybe have the window open in his room slightly, or at least the radiator off. Feet and head uncovered, plenty of fluids, lots of kisses. Skin to skin is good it will help to regulate his temperature.

I would suggest speaking to your GP they can advise you on a dose of Ibuprofen for beneath 12 weeks of age. My daughter had a temperature unresponsive to paracetamol at 9 weeks due to an ear infection and the GP advised me on a dose based on her weight over the phone.

vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk/6-in-1-vaccine

If you go on here there is a link to the patient information leaflet which is the leaflet that goes in with the vaccination and says its common for a child to have temperature of 39.5°C, but if it goes any higher I would contact your doctor
