Should I be concerned about these results? What would cause them? I don't drink very often so that's ruled out.

I know its quite different but in dogs those results would not give cause for concern. (Vet nurse). The levels are just without the normal range. Something as simple as having taken paracetamol might cause that. But i am not a dr!

Oh good to know it could have been something like that then. I've to go back in a couple of weeks and have everything re tested anyway so I'll be mindful to make sure I don't have any painkillers before hand. I have arthritis in my ankle so I do take pain relief a few times a week anyway.

I had similar recently. I've not gotten to the bottom of it, but apparently dehydration can cause them to be slightly elevated, as can painkillers or strenuous exercise. Anything serious would be much higher than that as far as I'm aware.

Are you on any medication? I'm on something that can raise AST and ALT. Mine are up at the moment but yours are higher than mine. My ALT was 47 but my doctor isn't worried.

If mine are high I usually have to repeat the test 2 weeks later to see if they've dropped.

I've heard a change in diet can have an effect - so if you've eaten more or less or different food to normal. Also injury or a big workout.

I hope you get to the bottom of it!

Interestingly where I am 'normal' is 35 for the ones I mentioned...

Other causes can be being overweight or a thyroid issue, hopefully they’ll find the cause op
