cranial osteopathy for breech baby?

I had a breech baby by c-section two weeks ago. Her head is a rather an odd shape - sort of tapers to the back, almost a bit triangular. Obviously this will flatten out in time. However, she's a good baby, feeding well, sleeping well. But she HATES lying down, and will howl until picked up, when she immediately quietens. It's my second baby, so don't think I'm being oversensitive about crying, but it's almost as if she hates lying on the back of her head. I've wondered whether cranial osteopathy might help. Anyone had a similar experience?

Not a similar delivery but my dd had cranial osteopathy after a ventouse delivery and it was wonderful - so gentle, really lovely. The guy did it on me to let me know what my dd was experiencing and it was the most wonderful calming experience so I am sure it is worth a try. Speak to an osteopath first and they will tell you whether it is worth it or not. If you are in cheshire, I can give you the guy's name.

Definitely. I recommend CO to everyone.

I had CO to get me into labour (was probably going to go anyway as at 41 weeks) and it was really lovely. I had rather a mad delivery with ventouse in the end and had DS3 booked in next week. I can't recommend it highly enough!!

Estobi, whereabouts in Cheshire is your guy please? And can I be nosey and ask how much it costs . Thanks.

I cannot recommend CO highly enough. ds was a section and it took 6 sessions and he was a different baby.

The one I used is in Stanstead, would happily recommend if you live anywhere near there.

Not breech, or even a difficult delivery, but dd was quite large (9lbs) so had to squish down a lot to get out! Also wouldn't lie down at all, so took for a course of CO at 6 weeks - wish I'd done it sooner!

Can recommend someone in North Herts if you're anywhere nearby?

Hi my ds2 had CO at 6 months - had a very speedy labour and cord round his neck - he went from sleeping 45 minutes at a time to sleeping 4 hours and soon 11 - bloody marvellous. Do it. I'm in Brighton BTW

Can't remember how much it cost - I think it was about £30-£40 2 years ago. The guy had studios in Hale near altrincham although I know he does travel around. His name is Daniel Donachie and he used to do osteopathy for a premiership football team. Really lovely and seemed to be particularly fond of babies

Sounds like it's worth a go. Am in south london and a couple of friends have recommended one in New Malden.

That's great, Pamina. Thanks. I'll give them a call.
