That's it really, need to know if it will get better, when, how.... what did you do?

Steroid injection hasn't helped, in fact seemed to have made it worse as I had a flare. Next steps are surgery or to wait it out. Pain is awful, sleeping is awful, it's my dominant arm so affecting my everyday life 😢 I have total respect and sympathies to all those suffering with pain. Frozen shoulder is not a joke although it can sound funny to some as I've found out!

Any experiences, tips would be much appreciated, thanks so much.

I had simultaneous bilateral FS about 10 years ago at the age of 39. I had steroid injections into both, as well as attempted hydrodistension but they didn't help at all.

Time helped, and my shoulders returned to normal within 18 months of it starting. Tramadol was my only saviour and I took 100mg every night at midnight and woke up screaming at about 5am. Dh said I was screaming before I was even awake.

Well, I won’t pretend the hydrodilatation wasn’t painful but mercifully it was over in 10 minutes. It didn’t ‘pop’ but apparently the capsule was very tight but has stretched a little.

Then a brutal session with the physio and a regime of 2 hourly exercises. There is definitely a bit more movement. And I haven’t yet had one of those horrible juddering pains on sudden moment since. But early days. Bit achey now.

Thanks for the update bestiswest how is your shoulder now? a regime of 2 hourly exercises does sounds brutal. Hope it's helped. I've decided against surgery and going to ride it out. Acupuncture and massages from dh has seemed to have helped a bit.

I have a little more movement. Still can’t reach behind my back but I can reach the opposite shoulder now( and mercifully can wash my armpits now). It is still painful but nowhere near the level it was - I haven’t needed to take painkillers at all.

I am swimming twice a week. I can manage a sort of doggy paddle/breaststroke and I have a pulley which goes over the door for exercises.

Still no horrible juddering pains.
