Has anyone had success with seeing a Chiropractor? I have 2 bulging discs in my lower back and I have lost a lot of strength and flexibility in the last 2 years.

I saw a physio for a while which helped a tiny bit. A friend has recommended a Chiropractor but I'd quite like to know what to expect.

Hi OP, not me personally but my DP did and found it helpful. He had a bulging disc amongst other things. He now goes to a sports therapist and feels like he gets quicker results/ pain relief with them. He tried acupuncture and physio but they did nothing for him x

Yes definitely worth a try. A chiropractor is highly trained and specialises in musculoskeletal issues (they are also primary healthcare professionals).

It’s likely the visit will consist of history taking and questioning. Followed by a physical exam, which will include different tests depending on the issue. This may include orthopaedic texts, cranial nerve testing etc. Often a treatment will then take place.

Chiropractitors are trained to see if you’re a candidate for treatment, or if it’s ‘outside of their scope’ they will refer you on.

Tell your chiropractor you’d like to know about what to expect/if you’re nervous etc and they should answer any questions you have. If you’re not comfortable, don’t continue with your care.

Also having a recommendation is always a great start, it means they must be doing something right!

Hope that helps, and good look op.
