Strange poo

Sexonknackeredlegs · 09/07/2007 18:37

I hope the April 07 girls don't find me - they think I am obsessed with poo!

OK, my 11 week old dd who is solely bottle fed has had strange poo. It is yellowy/green, but has what looks like congealed pieces of milk in it (think small pieces of scrambled egg).

She has been very sleepy this morning and has lost her appetite a bit but apart from that seems her usual self.

Any thoughts/experiences of this??

My ds who is 5 mnths old had this the other day (i have a thread around here somewhere about it) I thought exactly the same - that it looked like scrambled egg! Prior to this his poo was 'normal' but green and afterwards it turned into diarrhoea but hopefully you're dd won't get that.

Thank you. Do you know where your thread is?

Also my ds's appetite has decreased. He cannot manage a full bottle at the moment. He seems happy enough though but he's gone through a weeks worth of clothes and nappies since Saturday!

Sexonknackeredlegs · 09/07/2007 19:34

How is your ds now?

Oh dear! K is the same, as in really not v interested in her bottles. Has ds still got diahorrea (sp?)

There's not much on the thread! He still has diarrhoea - either watery or very runny yellow with not much substance, he is happy and doesn't seem to have any stomach pains but not drinking as much. I noticed he is a bit more tired than usual - last night and tonight he has gone down without any 'fussing'. I will go back to the Doctor's at the end of this week if it carries on but they don't seem bothered if their temperature is OK and they are not in pain.

Hi there. I found your thread, thank you. K doesn't have a temperature either and she seems happy enough. It sounds v similar - I look forward to the next stage - NOT! Where in the UK are you?

Devon

Sexonknackeredlegs · 09/07/2007 19:44

Lovely. I lived in Exmouth for 10 years!

I have wondered how he could have got this. My ds (4) go's to pre-school where there is always something going round. The rest of us are OK though.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 09/07/2007 19:46

My 4 year old dd goes to preschool too, but there have been no reoprts of anything going round. I am in Hampshire.

We use to walk along Exmouth beach loads! (when we lived in Exeter) but now we are Mid Devon - bit quiet - thinking of moving.

MummyDarlingSausage · 09/07/2007 19:47

(meant to say DD who is 4)

MummyDarlingSausage · 09/07/2007 19:48

Well at least our lo's are happy in themselves. My ds had a terrible cold for weeks after he was born and it really bothered him and it's much more stressful when they're not happy!

Sexonknackeredlegs · 09/07/2007 19:55

So many coincidences. When was your dd 4? K is crying and making out she is starving now. Normally in a routine and she would be in bed but all out of the window today!

dd was 4 on 13 of last mnth. I hope your dd gets to sleep ok. I've got to put dd to bed now then peace at last

Sexonknackeredlegs · 09/07/2007 21:42

My dd1 was 4 on the 23rd May, so quite close.

Well K took all but 1 ounce of her bottle, and no poo (at least not while I was with her!) so, hoping she might be getting over it. Really hope we get a good night. We have been lucky in that she has been sleeping through for quite a while, so broken nights are a real shock to the system!!

Hope you get a good night and that your ds is better soon.

Thank you ever so much for your help.

Hi, how is your ds?

K seems a lot better today - a lot less sleepy which was good, although couldn't get much done today!

Hope you are all ok.

Hi, ds is still the same - thank you for asking - it's been 4 days now and I am still worried but hoping it will go soon. I thought today he looked a bit peaky so I'll see how he is tomorrow. I'm glad to hear your dd is better today. I know what you mean about not being able to do things! Ds has become a bit clingy recently so I find it quite hard to get the usual stuff done. He isn't happy lying down at the moment but still not ready to sit up so I'm hoping things will improve (on his part!) once he can crawl and get into things. My dh works away for long periods so it's me on my own right now but he is back at the weekend so I cannot wait for some relief!

Sexonknackeredlegs · 11/07/2007 08:12

Poor ds. Really hope he is better soon. Not easy to deal with poorly children, and even worse when you are on your own.

My dh does the odd night away and that is bad enough.

Willing the week to go quickly for you. x
