Pneumonia recovery for 70 year old with Fibromyalgia

Just looking for a bit of advice / reassurance for my mum. Mum is 70, was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia couple of years ago and has usual flare ups.
She started feeling awful about 10 weeks ago, got bloods taken and inflammation markers in her blood were very high so without examining her the dr said he thought she had Polymyalgia and put her on steroids. She took steroids for 2 full weeks, gradually got worse and then became breathless so we took her to A&E 2 weeks ago Saturday past and they said she had silent double pneumonia and put her on correct treatment antibiotics.
She finished antibiotics last weekend and gradually came off steroids over period of a week.
She had her bloods done again, sounded etc and dr gave her all clear. But she is still not feeling good, extremely weak and pale, fibromyalgia pains are back with a vengeance-the steroids actually helped a little with that.
Sorry I'm completely rambling but she is worried sick thinking she isn't getting any better.
Is it normal to still be so weak 2 weeks post pneumonia diagnosis?
Will the fibromyalgia make her recovery take even longer?
Should she push herself to exercise more etc to get back to strength?
She said this morning that she feels bunged up a bit now too and when she blows her nose there is bloody gunge on tissue.
She has me worried sick 🙁.
Anyone with fibromyalgia that has also had pneumonia and can reassure me that she will actually get back to normal?
Thanks

I have fibromyalgia. It does make recovery time longer. Scars take longer to heal etc. I had pneumonia in the past pre fibro and I feel worse with a heavy cold now since fibro. I felt better on steroids too but doctors are reluctant to prescribe long term for fibromyalgia. Exercise makes my symptoms worse although I try every day to do step exercises and weights. Exercise might not be the best thing until recovery.

Clairethewitch70 thank you for your response 😊. I think she is expecting too much too soon, think I will tell her to not push herself. Thanks again x

Pneumonia on its own can take a long time to get over. A friend of mine had it, and took around 6 months to fully recover.
Add Fibromyalgia into the mix and your mum will feel as though she's been hit by a train.
Sleep, sleep and more sleep is the best thing to help her recover, with gentle exercise such as maybe walking around the house. She will know her limits, so when she tells you she's done enough/needs to rest/sleep whatever, then accept that.

I have Fibro and am almost 60 yrs old. Never had pneumonia, but did have a major flu thing a couple of years ago. On top of that I have asthma, so I almost know what your mum is experiencing. It took me MONTHS to recover, sometimes sleeping up to 18-20 hours a day!... because basically fibro is a bastard.

Time and patience is what she needs right now - oh and a loving, thoughful person to care about her - just as you are doing.

Flowers for you both.
