So as time has gone by ive noticed my mum doesn't wash or shower at all only thing shes washes is her hair, i find it absolutely gross as I cannot go a day without a wash!
Last time I witnessed her shower was at Christmas its been months since then!
How can I approach this situation or just let her get on with it?

If she doesn't smell she is obviously washing appropriately. Weird she doesn't shower but she must be clean enough.

Maybe she knows she doesn't need a shower every day. Yknow being an independent 50yr old woman perhaps she made the decision to manage her hygiene herself instead of daily rituals?

Honestly depression which can be easily hidden can result in self care going down the drain so don’t write that off.

You seem to have formed the option of laziness... so either you know why and mystery solved or maybe it is something else seriously consider all areas... people are not forthcoming about mental health issues especially if they are in tbe middle of it

I had about 2 months of baby blues ( wanted to die felt crap couldn’t ever remember being happy , feeling worse because I should feel happy and I clearly didn’t love my son enough to feel this sad etc . And not washing for a couple of days despite being thrown up on multiple tunes didn’t phase me .. and I need to wash everyday twice a day normally) I would not tell anyone quite how I felt I was only able to share once I was coming out of it.. after my taster of depression and how it can be hidden so well I would be surprised if your mum may have something wrong x
