Tingling arms and legs

11 replies

ILOVEALLCAKES · 07/03/2019 21:53

For a few months I've been having mild pins and needles/ tingling to both arms and both legs. This only happens in the evenings.
I eat well, am a normal weight. Not on any medication.
Any ideas?

I had this some years ago-tingling hands, feet and then lips bizarrely -I remember going to the GP about it having convinced myself it was MS, but they couldn’t find any cause for it! I’d completely forgotten about it till I read your post. I still get it sometimes, but I don’t think it’s anything bizarre.

I had this very mildly, but I convinced myself it was MS or other neuro illness. After a blood test it turned out to be a B12 deficiency for which I now have injections every 12 weeks.

@Holidayshopping @pigu
Thank you for the reassurance. I've also convinced myself (via Dr Google) I have MS

Do you suffer from any back problems at all?

ShimmeringIce · 08/03/2019 20:50

Pins and needles can be a calcium deficiency too

GnocchiGnocchi · 08/03/2019 21:07

Do you suffer from anxiety at all? I have those symptoms when I am anxious.

ILOVEALLCAKES · 09/03/2019 07:01

@LokisLover
No, thankfully not

@GnocchiGnocchi
No more anxious than what is considered normal. This always happens in the evening when I'm not doing very much, at a time when I'm most relaxed.

I used to find that marmite on toast would clear this up, I.e. A mild b12 deficiency. I used to get it when I relaxed, probably because I wasn't distracted by work.

I had this and taking magnesium helped.

Oldmum55 · 09/03/2019 08:32

Had this and convinced myself it was MS or some neurological conditions until I had a MRI for an unrelated matter and it was clear so stopped worrying about it. I noticed that health anxiety really make it worse. Was reading that a neurologist said that many people who go to see him about pins and needles do not have MS, which is reassuring.
