I have finally got around to registering my children with a dentist but there was no-one in our area taking on new nhs patients. One dentist said they would do the kids on the nhs if I was reistered with them privatly so thats what I've done. I'm worried about the cost though. Either I hang on and try to find an nhs dentist (unlikley I think) or I go private. If I go private I presume it will be better to be on a dental plan but how to I choose one? I know some require a check up and some don't - I've not seen a dentist for a couple of years and I've got a broken tooth which the dentist capped for me but which immediatly broke off. He said it was fine as it was but I'm worried a private dentist might insist on treating it. advice please!

Just wondered how you got on with this. I just called in to my NHS dentist to make some appointments and its a shambles. Our dentist is leaving and they don't have a replacement yet and they've just lost two dental hygenists so the first available appointment with the existing one is in March!! Just wondering about going private somewhere else but don't anything about it, eg costs etc. (I have a capped tooth too (not broken off though) and would like it replacing!)
