What is at the back of my throat?! (Pic attached)

Any ideas what this could be at the back of my throat? It's not causing me pain, but I've had a night time cough for a while, I sometimes feel like there is something in my throat, I've been getting a really dry throat that then seems to go into a spasm? Where I feel like I'm choking, my eyes water, I can't speak & I need to drink fluid. I don't have tonsils, they were removed as a child. I have mentioned to the GP & did ask if may be a tonsil had grown back but he just laughed at me! Also, I've had a couple of tonsil stones (yuk) and they been on this side.

Any suggestions greatly received please

Hi Sarbear29,

Did you get this checked at and did you get any answers?
I’m in the exact same position as you. I had my tonsils removed 4 weeks ago, they healed well, but in the last ten days I’ve had rapid growth on both sides and it now looks like I have tonsils again 4 weeks after my tonsillectomy? :O
My GP wouldn’t listen to me when I requested to see ENT again, and has just given me a dose of antibiotics, but they’re not working and I’m going to book another appointment.

Hope everyone is going great for you now :)

I have the same sort of thing, accompanied by a, nearly constant, dull stzbbing earache. Im so worried - I've been googling too much as well!

Hey!
Did you find out what this is? I have something that looks nearly identical for nearly 3 months now and doctor is being very dismissive.
Hope you're well, thanks :)

I'd go to a dentist if GP is being dismissive.

For everyone who is commenting -
If you have bumps on the back wall of your throat it is very likely to be something called cobblestone throat (look it up). It’s basically like inflamed lymphoid tissue and often caused by post nasal drip. I have it and it’s caused by my allergies.

@Dancingfairydreams Did you get your results back? Any answer as to what it was? I have the same exact thing.

Dancingfairydreams · 15/11/2021 11:01

@jtot yes it was tonsils...they had grown back...who knew 🤷‍♀️ had them removed & all good now
