Clear painless blister on belly

Pyxse · 27/02/2019 08:48

The first I knew of this was when it burst. I put my hand on my abdomen and suddenly felt wet. This was on Sunday. It has formed a scab now. No more blisters have appeared. It was about 12mm in diameter.

Does anyone know what this might be?

Burnt yourself while ironing?

Or if you had a belt with a metal buckle touching your skin, it could have caused a reaction.
Or you were doing some activity that involved a repetition of movement, like cleaning your car. Your skin got rubbed and a blister was formed like any other blister on a heel etc.

Well it was a blister. They are not uncommon really. Do you have any reason to think it's something more than just a blister?

Pyxse · 27/02/2019 17:50

There has been no rubbing or friction to cause a blister. I did think it might be impetigo but there have been no others so i don't think that can be it.

I haven't got an iron so it isn't that Blush

You can have mine - I despise them.

I got rid of it for a reason Smile

Well it isn't painless now. The area around it is red and raised and it is about 75mm in diameter. The crusty bit where the blister was has gone from red to yellow to green.

MrsKCastle · 27/02/2019 18:30

That sounds like it could be infected... keep a close eye and make sure the red area isn't spreading.

needthisthread · 27/02/2019 18:32

A clear blister doesn't sound like it's infected at all.

needthisthread · 27/02/2019 18:33

Oh wait, sorry OP has name changed and updated. Ignore my previous.

Draw a line round the red area and if the infection spreads seek medical attention
