Lumps in groin?

Three weeks ago i discovered pea sized lumps under the skin in my 16 months old boys groin. I took him to the doctor, who said they were more than likley lymp nods (cant spell) that can get inflamed when a baby has bad nappy rash. He had just got over nappy rash due to teething and the doc said to bring him back in a month if they were still there.
She wasn't worried as he is still putting on weight and isn't in pain and has no lumps else where. As it's nearlly a month now I'm thinking of taking him back, anyone else ever seen this?

Both my children had permanently noticeable lymph nodes in their groin(but neither had nappy rash) Ds also had them behind his ears and dd in her neck.

I went to the doctors countless times, but every time they said it was normal. (this was all different doctors - large practice)

My dc are now nearly 8 and nearly 5. The only lymph node still very noticeable is the one in dd's neck, but she is such a skinny little thing. All the others have disappeared by themselves over the years.
So am inclined to say - nothing to worry about.

feathers, i think its quite normal, my dd has them to, i think because the skin is so thin and soft there that they stand out more, can u move them?
hippipotami, i am very interested to read your post, my son has had swollen lymph nodes in his neck for around 4 years now, they go up and down but never completely dissapear, i took him docs years ago when it first kicked off doc checked him for lymph nodes everywhere else didnt find any (swollen ones that is) so he put him on antibiotics then measured the nodes to see if they had shrunk any which they ahd, after countless visits he went to see an ENT because of swollen tonsils and ear infections all the time, he wasnt interested in his lymph nodes though and i never went back to discuss operations for his tonsils, did u ever find out why your daughters nodes where swollen?

my two still have lumpy necks at almost 7 and 9. I had to take DS1 to hospital overnight when he was around 2 as his groin lump was huge. Was down to an infection in his toe, due to me letting him paddle in a dirty paddling pool and he had a slight cut on his toe Learnt my lesson though as ds1 had to have lots of needles poor love

I bet your ds is find feathers

uly, have your doctors got any idea why they still have swollen nodes? im so glad ive found someone whos children have the same thing (meant in the best way possible of course) its annoying when u dont get answers and i used to scare myself silly by googling

It's probably because kids are still building up their immune system? They're lively enough and eat well so I don't worry. Used to when I just had one though.

lou, ds1 seems to be lumpiest. He had one for years that was big on his neck. Dr eventually gave him anti bs and his went down too.

loopyloo - I am ashamed to say I never followed it up. She is a skinny little thing, so I think they just stand out more (thin neck, thin skin).
Because ds's ones went away, I am assuming this will too.

It is certainly not enlarged/inflamed, so I think it is normal.

Thanks so much, that's put my mind at rest.
