I have endo diagnosed and treated in a lap two years ago. While i have a mirina every withdrawal bleed i get pain and have had a few admissions for queeried appendicitis. At the moment i am struggling with nausia. Is there anything i can get from a pharmacy. While relluctant to eat or drink, i am concerned if i go to a gp i may be admitted again, as while no different then usual if examined they allways queery an appendicitis. Obviously i would get seen if things get worse or change.

You can buy buccastem over the counter for nausea. You put it under your top lip and it melts over an hour or so.... anything else better probably needs a script...

Though I'm not pharmacist or medical ( Just's had lots of nausea issues!)

Have you thought about travel sickness tablets? You can buy them over the counter, I have endometriosis & when mine was very bad, the pain used to make me sick, thankfully after a hysterectomy I only get the odd flare up.

Thanks both. I felt much better yesterday but have woken up feeling really sick. If it continues i will go to a pharmacy..

Its odd sometimes pain makes me sick, but then i tend to actually vomit. However, other times it just is nausia.

I have a GP appointment on Monday so plan to ask about how these periods of nausia can be nannaged. Any ideas of what they could offer?

My consultant give me script for stemitil (not sure of the generic name) these are much better than buccastem for me.

However there must be a few options available on prescription

Sympathies. Nausea is hideous.

Theres a migraine med (migrileve?) Which has two pills - one for oain and one for nausea. I think the nausea one is buclizine?

ssunniebear · 01/03/2019 02:38

Thanks
Whenever i am in hospital theyalways seem to give multiple meds for nausia and vomiting. I assume the morphine and other painkillers may cause sickness.

My gp gives me a prescription for antisickness, metrocloporamide, I think it's called. I only use it when I feel really sick, one pack lasts a couple of years, it might be worth explaining to your gp, so you have something to hand when you flare up. It works a dream. I didn't have endometriosis, but adhesions after a rubbish c section.

ssunniebear · 01/03/2019 05:06

Thanks I agree it is a good idea to speak to a gp. In some ways i feel having the medication would redduce my need to take it. Carrying painkillers i feel in less pain then when i dont have any with me.

Its interesting you talk of adhetions. While the gynae thinks it is unlikely from keyhole surgery the gynaes have muted this when i have been in.

Eo you plan to have any surgery to treat or is it more about symptom mannagement?

Thanks all. The GP has prescribed some anti sickness medication.

However they wont prescribe antiinflamitories as they say the risks of the stronger ones outway the benefits.
