Hi. I've been having issues since I had my second son in October 2017. Not pooping as much as I used to not feeling "satisfied " after I have. Sometimes I'll have gone to the toilet and then around 30 mins later I feel itchy and wipe and sometimes there's overspill and sometimes fresh red blood. I've been to Dr and she put me on Senna tablets and laxido. Blood tests and stool tests come back clear. Dr told me she wasn't worried but because I kept going back she referred me. So I have been waiting for an appointment since October and have one booked with the gut dr in March. Has anyone else had these issues.

My sister had something similar caused by pelvic floor issues after long labour, forceps + 3rd degree tear. She's having physio which is helping but not cured. Thanks

Yes I have, have suffered since birth of DC1 but moved house and appointment got lost in the move and I haven't chased it up. I was diagnosed with a rectocele. I have added a pic here from google images. Basically a prolapsed rectum due to childbirth. You don't always empty your bowel fully. If not careful what's left gets compacted and can cause constipation - I have suffered from anal fissures on and off as a result of this. Best way I have found is to squat on the loo although the anal fissure peeps will recommend you do a semi squat where you lift your feet up by putting them on a kiddie step in front of the loo. I find this still doesn't clear everything so I actually step onto the seat and squat like you have to in those hole in the ground loos. I hope this helps. Sorry I don't know about treatment options yet but I do plan on getting re referred soon!

Mine was caused by forceps Ans DC1 being off the scale for head size

Blood suggests you have a fissure too

@Elsasalterego thanks for that. I had a section. So haven't actually done childbirth. I'm hoping it's something to do with having kids tho. Just nervous that it's something sinister.

Have you heard of the Squatty Potty Elsasalterego? Less dangerous than squatting on your actual toilet Grin
