Burn advise

Friday evening I burnt my arm on a pan handle. Cooled for ages under tap and sat with wet towel over it until bedtime

Yesterday it looked lots better, noticed a few small blisters around the edges but wasn’t painful so I left uncovered

Overnight blisters have burst and now have a raw patch of painful skin. I covered with a dressing in the middle of the night but now not sure what’s the best course of action
Is it ok to just keep replacing dressing or do I need to get it looked at?

How big is the patch/burn?

It would be worth seeing a nurse to get a good dressing and to make sure it's sterile

I burned myself pretty badly once and went to a pharmacy to ask for advice. The pharmacist said if it is bigger than the size of a 50pence piece it required medical attention.

Is yours bigger than that?

RaynaJaymes · 24/02/2019 08:59

DonPablo it’s a few inches across but not as wide as a 50pence
I’ll pop to the pharmacy today, not sure it warrants bothering out of hours

U shouldn't cover a burn as it will need the air to heal, anything bigger then 50p needs to be seen at hospital as the person above said. U can get special burn dressing which is covered in cool gel to help it
