Second day of holiday and I have just noticed this on my child which she tells me has been there for almost two weeks! She’s autistic and was too scared to say as she hates going to the doctors or hospital. I have health insurance thank god! But is there anyway I can treat this myself without having to go to the doctors. There’s a pharmacy not far away I can go to. In Spain if that helps.

Is it the lump on the pinky finger? Could be hard skin. Get to the doctors to check it out though don't trust people who will pass this off as nothing unless they're qualified doctors which is hard to be sure about on here. You don't know for sure what it is so you won't know how to treat it, a doctor should know

I had something like that on my foot, and I had got a splinter from a floorboard in it. I used tea tree oil and kind of squeezed it out. Would she let you have a go?

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants

There's no need to squeeze a splinter out. It will be painful. There are other ways to get a splinter out. You can try soap and sugar with a plaster to hold it in place after having a soak in the path as it opens up the skin and that will help it come out (if this lump on the child's finger just so happens to be a splinter)

Fair enough. It looks the same as mine did, which I agree doesn't necessarily mean it IS the same. It didn't need much squeezing tbf, and I didnt realise that the splinter was in there.

It's either a splinter or an infection from a torn cuticle. You don't need to take her to the doctor. I'd soak it in some hot water for a while to soften it, then squeeze it. Or just put a plaster on it with some Vaseline or other softening cream. Either way it'll be fine, nothing serious.
