Dull ache, tingling jaw - toothache?

Hi all,

I’m at my utter wits end here. Due to go on holiday in 5 days, yet toothache (I think) decided to raise its head just before the weekend!

My cheek started to weirdly tingle. Similar feeling to when I had issues with a wisdom tooth, which I had extracted 2 years ago under general. Along with the tingle, i’m experiencing a dull ache from the tooth (I think), that was next to the wisdom. I’m also getting odd on/off pains in my ears, forehead, nose, neck, shoulder blade area but these are sporadic & not long lasting. I’ve taken painkillers once however that didn’t really a great deal.

I went to the dentist today in a bid to try & get it sorted..she had a look at recent xrays (6mths), & could see no issues. However she noticed a tooth directly above tooth I’m feeling discomfort which was on ‘watch’ so she drilled & filled. Several hours later, local has worn off, & the tingling & dull ache is still present.

I’m on the verge of crying because I don’t want toothache on holiday or do I want to spent 10 hours on a plane in potential agony! So posting here for any advice / help which would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Ps I’m also able to sleep at the moment, which is a blessing.

I should state..my face hasn’t swollen..hot and cold foods do not bother me really. I’ve always had sensitive teeth, so know to avoid ice cold, or piping hot drinks/foods.

UPDATE:

I went to the dentist at the beginning of the week, and she could see decay on a tooth not where this odd sensation is coming from. So she filled it. 24 hours later, pain, niggle persisted, so I went back.

She then located a small hole of decay on another tooth I had filled last year, which she said I could leave, or get filled. I opted to have it filled, as I was starting to have sensitivity to cold drinks. She filled it, sensitivity to cold drinks stopped. However, she did notice what looked like a small erosion in one of my teeth, below him line. She coated the tooth in fluoride in a bid to get it to arrested. She also gave me dental advise on how to save the tooth but also reduce the sensitivity in the other teeth. She commented that my oral hygiene is very good, despite this issue.

24 hours after treatment, the niggling sensation still persists. Apart from the small erosion of a tooth below the gum line, my teeth are ok. No absences or other tooth decay. So I’m at a total loss as to what is going on. My dentist is reluctant to drill and fill anymore teeth, as they are all ok.

The niggling sensation does not keep me awake at night, and I am able to eat on that side. Although I’m very gingerly eating on that side because of the new filling.

So...any ideas, thoughts as to what it may be? Friends have said sinus, others have said nerves?

Thanks
