Impacted wisdom removed 0 pain?!

I had a second (upper) impacted wisdom tooth removed at the hospital around 4PM. Lots of yanking etc but no stitches. only a tiny bit of tooth could only just be felt through gum so fairly deeply buried. So far I have had no pain whatsoever. It's not even sore.

About 3 months ago I had a lower wisdom removed which seemed more difficult and took longer with stitches and it was very painful afterwards. (lower)

So, should i just be thankful or wait for the worst? (it's been around 10 hrs)

I had 2 upper wisdom teeth removed at the same time exactly how you described no pain at all after! The worst part of the whole thing was the injection in the roof of my mouth!!

Same here too! Ah well, I won't get any sympathy from the kids this time! Back to the washing basket. Grin

Same. Upper, no pain. Lower, ouch. I think it's common.

No pain with mine despite stitches. I kept waiting for it to kick in and get me and nothings happened yet either. Been over a week now Grin

Be thankful

Be very glad! I had all four completely impacted, and taken out together under general anaesthetic. Two weeks off and I felt like I'd been run over by a truck.

I had this. I was completely numb along the side of my jaw and had no pain whatsoever even when it went on to become infected.

It took almost 2 years for the full sensation to return and sometimes I still get tingling if my collar brushes my jaw.

I remember one of the staff at the dental hospital saying that whoever did my procedure routinely moved nerves out of the way to avoid accidental damage. Or something along those lines. It was nearly 20 years ago, I don't exactly remember.

I had an upper wisdom tooth removed some years ago. Cleared my diary for the next two days, bought soup and Solpadeine etc. Not a sausage. Not a single twinge!

It seems it may be normal,

Everybody is different OP. But in general terms Upper Wisdoms are usually easier to remove and have less associated post operative complications eg infection / dry

socket.

Upper wisdom usually don't cause any problems it's the lower ones that are closer to nerves and the bone is denser in the lower jaw .
