How to look after your teeth whilst pregnant?

I know avoiding snacks and sugary items, eating just at meal times etc helps keep your teeth healthy. During pregnancy with all the cravings and constant hunger I find myself snacking constantly throughout the day - the advice my midwife gave me was eat little but often, so I'm just wondering how to prevent major damage during this time? Can just drinking water after snacks and then brushing your teeth half hour later be enough to stop all the excess snacks doing damage? Obviously snacking on fruit etc when I can not just sugary items

To be fair, I did nothing different and ate all the sugar in England. My teeth were fine. Just don't forget to brush. It's not a foregone conclusion that you'll get tooth decay.

I had 3 free flouride treatments during my pregnancy, run though the midwife clinic. Is that not offered in the UK?
