Name changed as don't want this linking my other threads as I'm really embarrassed.
I've started to notice that I smell really bad.
My hygiene is very good I wash every day (shower) and sometimes have a bath in the evening too. I use soap and a scrubby sponge, I apply deodorant. Always makes sure I wash my hair/ nails are clean, teeth brushed etc. Basically I've always been very hot on personal hygiene.

I have found for the past few weeks that I smell really bad after an hour. I can also smell it on my clothes and it's getting really embarrassing.

I'm beginning to wonder if it is why nobody talks to me at baby groups.

I know it's normal to have bo after a baby but surely not 15 months on ?
It's getting me so down and paranoid.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Are you washing your clothes properly. Ie not on a quick wash and at least 40deg?

Solasum · 06/04/2019 21:02

Are you wearing natural materials? Things like polyester don’t breathe like cottons

HJE17 · 06/04/2019 21:04

Changing deodorants could possibly help. Unrelated to child-bearing, I found I suddenly had the same issue a few years ago. I swapped deodorant brands and was immediately back to normal. I’ve since swapped back to my original brand and had no issues. A mystery, but there you have it!

Try hibi scrub, available on Amazon. It deals with the bacteria far more effectively than soap alone, and excellent for armpits and acne too.

Have you switched to non bio washing powder because of the baby? I agree proper washing of clothes with bio powder and plenty on water in the cycle.

I use Mitchum antiperspirant (the solid stick) and it is very good.

CatstorTroy · 06/04/2019 21:09

Definatley try changing deodorants. I am the queen of sweat and that helps a lot. I also use perspirex 2/3 week and it's a godsend ( takes a few weeks to get working and means you might have to time your armpit shaves around usage)

Clean clothes every day ? Washed at 40 with bio detergent?

Maybe change your deodorant and see if that helps.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/04/2019 21:19

How are you doing your clothes? If they take too long to dry sometimes they can smell musty.

museumum · 06/04/2019 21:20

Are you wearing the same clothes you wore in the early sleep deprived hormonal post partum time? If so they need thrown away I’m afraid as they’ll never clean properly.

shellysheridan · 06/04/2019 21:22

I had this issue. I changed deodorant to a stronger roll on and it went away

Livedandlearned · 06/04/2019 21:28

I too had this issue, so I use the maximum strength deodorant night and morning and I hardly ever smell.

What?Confused of course you don't need to throw clothes away! Long wash with bio detergent and they'll be clean.

I had this too after dc, but I was also carrying extra weight which massively contributed to it. It wasn't until I started exercising and sweating it out that it got better. I've tried every deodorant on the market also and my fav is Sure- stress control. Can get in boots for a £5 and it's been fab!
