and she's had it for ages, she says.

she is 5 and had her eyes tested about a year ago and all was OK.

what on earth could it be? they look fine, but she is adamant. do I take her to doctor, Specsavers or to where?

cheers, Dinny

Oh doctors I should think. Actually reading this reminds me that ds1 has been complaining about having scratchy eyes for ages. He does this weird face pulling thing a lot, because he says his eyes are scratchy. Tell you what I'll take him if you take your dd. Then we'll compare diagnosis.

Well I don't know about dinny, about ds1s aren't red at all. And when I say he's had it a while, I mean, uhm, certainly before the summer/spring

dinny · 02/07/2007 18:52

do you know, am just wondering if it is realted to the fact dd doesn't really seem to produce many tears when she cries....

OP posts:
dinny · 02/07/2007 18:53

yea, dd just said she's had it since she was a baby!

and they aren't red at all.

dry eye type thing?

Hmm, I'd take that with a pinch of salt. I mean 'since a baby' she says, not taking a back seat at all. That probably means, if she's 5, for the last month or so?

dinny · 02/07/2007 18:58

lol, ahundredtimes

God, am imagining all sorts of syndromes now - she has always complained she can't make enough tears, maybe shold have taken her years agO????

Well frankly is right up there with ds1 and his weird facial tic eye thing. OK, we should make appointments.
Though I'm especially sceptical at the moment as dd1 insisted to her reception teacher that when she was holding up a pencil she was in fact holding three. Then we had to go for ludicrous appointment at the opticians where she jumped about in the chair saying 'I can't SEE YOU.'

Was absurd and embarassing.

However, will risk another go for ds1 and his eyes.

dinny · 02/07/2007 19:06

hmmmm, your dd sounds like mine....

just asked her again which eye had sticks in and she said the other one...then said she couldn't remember.

wonder if it is tiredness in her eyes after a long day at school...

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 02/07/2007 19:14

Maybe. Tell you what I'll offer ds1 up to the GP on the basis that he is 9 and should therefore be rational, and report back. Okay?

dinny · 02/07/2007 19:15

wonder what it can be...

did/does your ds produce many tears when he cried/cries?

i knwo i had htis
i had a tussle wiht ds1 whn he was about 18 months tryin to get hin dressed
he scratched my retina
it was worse when it was dry
andwyay it got so bad at school i drove to hte hospital ( one eyed!) and they said it ws a scrathed retina and would take years to get better
it did
i took eye drops to keep it damp

CodHun · 02/07/2007 19:17
ahundredtimes · 02/07/2007 19:17

Well he doesn't cry all that much tbh. But yes, I think so. I've been telling him, rather gruffly, that he watches too many screens. He probably does.

dinny · 02/07/2007 19:17

YEARS?

could you see sticks or feel them?

doctor or Specsaver?

CodHun · 02/07/2007 19:18

yes it was nt constant fo eyars but defof hurt on and off fo years
it fel like someoen stickign twigs in your eyes

worse in am or when tired

ahundredtimes · 02/07/2007 19:19

God a scratched rentina. That was some fight. I've got to hand it to ds3 though, he has excellent hand eye skills. We'll make a tennis player of him yet.

Okay. I'm going to the doctors and I'm going to say, I think he has a scratched retina. lol. He'll do that sighing thing and say 'let's just have a look at the little man shall we?' and ds1 will frown and say, "do you mean me?'

dinny · 02/07/2007 19:19

where the heck is an eye hospital , I wonder.

oh no - poor little dd - wouldn't sh have said she hurt her eye if this has happened??

oh hell

OP posts:
CodHun · 02/07/2007 19:20
