Does anyone else have a symptom of the big C n instantly diagnose themselves, even though my symptom could be lots of other things all I focus on is cancer, oh how I hate being like this.

Im only 23. I was bleeding after sex so had to have a biopsy and thy told me dont worry its just cervical erosion. Nothing to worry about. Then the biopsy showed hpv and thy said still its so common dont worry. But i cant stop my mind. In my head im just thinking how should I live everyday with hpv and cervical ectropion and what if i get cancer xx

I also have a cervical ectropian. They are not cancer nor do they turn into cancer. I’ve had a smear test whilst I had cervical ectropian - confirmed by gp AND nurse and it came back clear

Hi, I didn't have the kidney scan as machine broke when I got there, sent my anxiety into overdrive as it takes me ages to gear up for things like that, it's been booked for tomorrow at 10:45 so another night tonight of utter anxiety, I had the camera in my bladder and that was all clear, phew, staff were amazing with me.

Just need to try n think positive for kidney scan tomorrow, I'm no good at thinking positive in health.

Oh no I can imagine the stress. Thats fab about today’s scan though. It’s good when the staff are nice. Try and be positive for tomorrow.
Today hasn’t been so bad I’m trying to push it to one side but one minute I’m calm the next sheer panic and what ifs.
I ended up ringing the hospital for my appointment date but they said they only got the referral today. Hopefully I should have a date in the next couple of days. I’m going to Portugal on Friday and all this has totally ruined it. I’m just not excited one bit. All this worry has killed all my other emotions.

I know how that feels, were off to London Monday for a couple of days to discuss our visas to emigrate to NZ and I'm not at all bothered now about going.

I'm sure your raised ca125 is from ovarian cysts. I was a gynae nurse for a few years now seen it lots of times.

So many other things it could be, but I do understand you, my haematuria could be many things but to me it's kidney cancer n I fail to see all other possible reasons for it.

I so hope you get a date for your appointment before u go away. Health anxiety is such a bitch. X

Thanks for that. I bet u saw lots of frantic women in gynae. Everything relates to C for me even a headache (brain tumour) or sore throat (throat C) Hopefully one day we will kick health anxiety!!!

Any news on a date for you yet?
Just a thought but if you don't get one before your holidays might be worth calling them and telling them you'll be away.
Other thing you could do if your in a position to is maybe pay private for what you need for peace of mind before the holidays.

Hi not too bad. Trying to keep busy. Got my date. 14th feb how great. I might call them and ask if there’s anyway they can consider me if there are any cancellations. Another week of hell waiting. Holiday is ruined. Private would have been good but too late to do now. Are u feeling better in urself now?

Sorry to jump on this but the past few days I've become finely tuned (obsessive) with my heart beat. I can feel the fluttering in my chest and whilst I know it's anxiety how the hell do you ignore it??

Hi @cantagree, I feel most anxious ie physically when I’m sitting still and I’m not doing anything to take my mind off it. I’m absolutely fine at work most of the time then when I go home I’m very aware of my heartbeat, breath any aches and pains etc

Only just seen this message.
I'm a little better now I've had my scans but Google is being a bitch n saying ultrasound doesn't pick up all kidney cancers so still a little worried thanks to health anxiety.
Still got microscopic haematuria n still waiting on 24hr urine and protein/creatinine test but he did say they wasn't urgent n can take few weeks for those tests to come through.
What's the plan with you now sweetie?

@clastegra. Its so horrible how health anxiety tricks the mind so well!! Awww u have some more tests to go through try and stay off Mr google.
Had my scans. Radiographer said she couldn’t see anything new.

@applectumble79 I bet you're so relieved. I'm so happy for you. When the sonographer said ' Clare, your kidneys are normal' I burst out crying. He said Clare Clare people normally cry when I give them bad news now go home and relax. Just those few simple words made a world of difference. Just occasionally I have to remind myself of what he told me or I start thinking what if he missed it, but trying to tell myself that's health anxiety.
Will they do another blood test ca125 for you or are you all done.
I've joined a FB health anxiety group, scary how many people suffer it. It's helped me a bit though.
