Teenage girls, low blood pressure

I have the impression that it is common for otherwise healthy teenage girls to have lowish blood pressure?

Is this true?

If so, why?

And what should/can be done about it?

(Dd is having episodes of feeling faint and nauseous. Her BP tends to be 105-112/60 during these episodes.)

Mine is similar. Sleepy also and it's frustrating when its constantly written off as "her age" or "hormones" - she has fallen down the stairs a couple of times feeling dizzy or faint . But I've had no other options suggested. My DD is 16, fit and otherwise healthy but just not as energetic or healthy as she should be. I'm in my late 40's and seem to be able for more than she is.

Teenage boys too. It's often nothing more exciting than the body not being used to it's new height/weight equilibrium after a growth spurt. Other times it might be an indicator of something, but don't ask a bunch of rando's on the Internet about medical issues. Take her to your GP.

Make sure she's eating and drinking enough though. Body image dieting can be problematic around that age, particularly if she's a beanpole.

Oh his strange as I was just wondering about this. Dd is not quite 13 but just been told her fainting spells are due to low blood pressure.

They started in the summer and are fairly irregular but still not great considering she has to travel to school and back quite a distance and I am at work so can’t pick her up.

We have firms to have iron levels checked but they don’t seem concerned at all.

She enjoys her food, cycles to clubs, does yoga and swimming every week. I think she has a good balance of diet and activity. She's lean, rather than slender.

I will, of course, take dd to see the GP, but it's Saturday night now - no appointments available Hmm

Been to the GP for the same thing for almost 16 year old dd.

Told it was just one of those things in teens , they checked her blood and that was about it.
Bit frustrated though tbh as twice at a health show DD has had a medical professional show her how an ECG worked and twice had weird results but GP won't check out.
I'm waiting for the charity that does heart checks to have space.

I have always had low blood pressure and fainted a few times as a teen. I had a blood test and my iron levels were low- usually around the time of my periods. Became much better at managing my diet
