It's frightening you? Why?

I go through spells of it and while they're going on I look at what might be causing them. Usually something has been changed in laundry detergent. Extra rinse needed. Or scented sanitary towels can set it off etc.

They can get quite stroppy on occasion our neathers.

Have you been tested for diabetes?

RNBrie · 25/01/2019 14:55

If you've had three yeast infections in three weeks you probably aren't treating them properly so it's just one long infection and whatever you've done to treat it has been effective at treating the symptoms but not the underlying infection.

Get a canestan tablet or pessary plus enough cream to do 2 applications a day for at least a week.

Sorry I accidentally posted it too early, I've posted a new thread with all the details. I hadn't thought of laundry detergent but will try to get some unscented and gentler ones. Do you have any you reccomend?

Cut out sugar and bread
Have you changed your contraception?

andia123 · 25/01/2019 14:57

I haven't, is this something often related?

I used to get them almost every month when I was on the pill. As soon as I stopped taking it I didn't get any for years until I was pregnant. Could it be hormonal, or a change in washing powder, bath products etc?

andia123 · 25/01/2019 14:58

Thank you, I will try to cut out bread as well as sugar. I haven't, no but can look into it too

How did you deal with them when you got them?

Could you be peri-menopausal? I was getting recurrent infections (treating DH every time too, so not re-infecting each other), then read something about thining of vaginal tissues to do with perimeno and yeast infections.

We started using lube and have had no infections since!

katykins85 · 25/01/2019 15:07

Yes diabetes can cause recurring thrush. If you pop to a lloyds pharmacy they can do a screening blood test whilst you wait so its worth checking out

User5trillion · 25/01/2019 15:10

When I go through phases of eating too much sugar I get them. Perhaps cut that out

Fairylea · 25/01/2019 15:27

I get them all the time. Canestan pessaries from Amazon or the pharmacy usually sorts it out for a while at least. Nothing to be frightened about, it’s very common.

FadedRed · 25/01/2019 15:31

Is your partner treating themselves at the same time that you do? Otherwise you will just be passing the infection back to each other. Even if one of you doesn’t show any symptoms.

andia123 · 25/01/2019 15:48

Yes I will make sure he does get treated!
