Symptoms -

Brain feels like it's being squashed by a nutcracker, made worse by doing anything other than lying down

Entire body aches

Eyeballs sore and hot

Can't stay awake for more than 30 minutes at a time

Very painful chesty cough that has made my throat feel like I've swallowed razor blades. Can hear the mucus in my chest but nothing coming up yet. I'm trying my absolute hardest not to cough though because it hurts my head chest and throat so much. Also very wheezy.

Also one minute I am roasting and sweaty the next minute I have to crawl to put the heating on because I am freezing.

So it's probably just the flu but I am really struggling and crying with the pain.

What is my best action plan here to at least get myself to the point where I'm not crying please?

I had the flu jab too but I had a fairly mild dose in comparison to flu I have had in the past

I'm going to have to go back to work on Monday and I don't see how I'm going to survive an eight and a half hour day! We had tickets for a show tonight so glad I managed that but I'm wiped out now!!!

That's how I woke up on 27th Dec and its lasted 4 weeks im only now starting to feel human.... all i can say is sleep sleep sleep as much as you can night nurse is good to help sleep but doesn't really do much else for your symptoms, drink plenty eat what you can little and often.
I called my gp 2 weeks in and said he also said it's a strain of flu that the vaccination didn't cover. Been to gp Friday... says mine lasted longer than some as I have a weak immune system after chemo.. and I should of gone to hospital.....clearly never spent time in my local hospital of you're lucky you come out more sick than you want in rarther than dead

Take a bath as often as you can manage it helps to feel human for around 5 mins 10 if your lucky. every other day every two strip bedding so your not laying in the same cough covered bedding all week call on family and friends to help you if they have had the same they will jump at the chance to make life a little easier for you having gone through it.. I really feel for you op hope it doesn't last as long as mine its horrendous

Oh god I hope it doesn't last 4 weeks 😳😳

Silver lining and all that... I have lost 10lbs since all I managed to eat all week wa half a Kiev, half a tin of soup and 3 nuggets (nutritious, I know!)
